Any ideas on the Vista error?

I've tried the newest test versions and both the mouse and the chatpad installers both get the same 0x00000422 error. Has anyone else had different results on Vista-32?

Unfortunately I haven't worked more on it, but I have access to my Windows 7 system again so I should be able to compare device install logs. It seems to be an error about some service not being started, but I don't know if that's the cause of the failure, or the result of a failure.

This week is pretty filled with actual job work so I may not get much done until the weekend.

Cradle, are you saying that the "for Windows" wireless controllers work with all driver versions, but the actual XBox wireless controller stop working once you install official Microsoft drivers (version 1.1 or 1.2)?

It does sound like you can be a really valuable person to test wireless. Most of us wouldn't have that variety of controllers etc. available.

Just assigning different values will not cause a crash, chance is you messed up the code in a different place that will simply result in random crashes. As said, the chatpad code won't work in the Wireless class, no real value in even trying, as the whole endpoint-layout is completly different on a Wireless controller.

When you want to send random stuff to your controller you should play around with chatpad/chatpad_test.cpp and adjust that to more or less fit the wireless controller.

I think the 121 issue is HOPEFULLY fixed. To verify the test code I have, use one of the following links.

If you have a 64-bit system, try copying this control .exe into the directory that has chatpad_config.txt, and run it:
    http://code.google.com/p/chatpad-sup...trol_test3.exe

If you have a 32-bit system, try copying this control .exe into the directory that has chatpad_config.txt, and run it:
    http://code.google.com/p/chatpad-sup...trol_test4.exe

Let us know how it works out.

Try pressing the little "people" button on the lower left of the chatpad.
