CONTEST: Xbox Chatpad Driver Challenge

Hey, just signed up to say great job, and that I wish it worked for me.
I'm using an original wired Xbox 360 controller with the new chatpad, on win7ultimate x86 and my control utility output looks like this:

Hopefully you just need different initialization codes, but I dunno. First, unplug and replug your controller. Then, for 32-bit Windows 7, try downloading this and running it from the same directory as your chatpad_config.txt file:

That seems to have gotten the mouse portion to work, but no dice on keyboard functions.

EDIT:
I think it may be a small problem with the keybindings on my computer, as when I use an unbound key combination, it puts something along the lines of "No action binding found for 0x19 + 0x6." in the command prompt, but when I press anything else, it does nothing. Again, the mouse is working beautifully, but the keyboard not functioning is most likely a problem with the keybindings on my end, even though I haven't touched the keybindings file. Just a heads up.

EDIT THE SECOND:
Just a question, am I supposed to have 5 keyboards listed for the chatpad in device manager? I clear them out after an uninstall, because after one bad installation, I got a bluescreen, uninstalled, cleaned out device manager, and it installed 5 keyboard drivers, and i don't have the option to remove at least 2 of them.

First off the driver works great on my 64 bit windows 7 comp and the on-the-fly mouse emulation was a great idea so kudos to gafblizzard for all his hard work. I could use a little help with the config file though. I'm trying to assign the spacebar key with the green modifier to bring up the task manager, but i can't get the control program to start after assigning any button to perform either SPECIAL_ACTION_LEFT_CTRL + SPECIAL_ACTION_LEFT_ALT + KEYBOARD_KEY_DELETE or KEYBOARD_LEFT_ALT + KEYBOARD_LEFT_CONTROL + KEYBOARD_KEY_DELETE. Is there any way I can get this to work?

I'm not quite sure what you're asking...the current drivers support using the thumbsticks to control the mouse. :)

That's almost certainly the problem, because I STILL have not finished my uninstall stuff. You should have a Device Manager that matches something like this:

If you don't, follow the instructions in the Troubleshooting section of the Getting Started guide (http://code.google.com/p/chatpad-sup...GettingStarted) to uninstall the extra devices. You can try only removing the duplicates, or removing them all and reinstalling. You probably need to uninstall the keyboard/mouse device before you can remove the corresponding Human Interface Device, otherwise you won't have the option, at least for the keyboard, if I recall correctly.

hey guys, dont know if this is of any use. i baught an unofficial chatpad recently. when i connect it to my wireless controller windows picked up new hardware. after install i checked out device manager and it was listed as usb audio divice. i then unplugged the unofficial chatpad and plugged in an official chatpad and nothing happened. anyway it say on device properties XBOX_360_DEVICE_00:03

I just want to thak you for doing this. I have a wireless controller, so I am unsupported at the moment, but at least the framework is there.

I have a single wireless receiver and the white controller that came with it and then the new one that comes with the slim. Will buy a chatpad in the next month and am willing to help test if possible/needed.

I know you have worked hard, but would it be possible to make the d-pad be usable as arrow keys? Or would joy2key be a better choice for that.

On that note, is is possible for joy2key to use the enable mouse button for on and off and finally, would it be possible to use only one stick for a mouse as when I use joy2key currently I set the right-stick to scroll.

Thank you once again for this, hopefully by the end of this year there will be wireless added somehow.

I have made note of your suggestions, and most of them should be possible, so we'll see. :) What do you mean by this, though? You want a button on the chatpad itself to communicate with joy2key?

I use joytokey for the mouse/game/anything etc.

just replace the people key from mouse to what ever you want.

I found something out on the wireless reciever,

if the wireless controller sync to xbox then plug a charge in play into pc with reciever,

it connects to the reciever like an xbox would.

thus it send data to the reciever threw the charge cord.

Sweet merciful crap, gaf, it's working! If I knew where you were, I'd hug you. Thanks for the driver, all your hard work, and if you need any more testing, don't hesitate to ask, I'd be more than happy to help in whatever way I can.

This was typed using my Xbox 360 chatpad, and my typing speed only dropped from 80wpm to about 20-30.
