    Hey Gaf,

So i had a question. I've got the chatpad working ok, and im loving it. Really nice to not need a keyboard for everything! However im having some problems getting a key mapping to work right. i am trying to get ctrl+f12 mapped to any key on the keyboard (preferably something like shift+0, replacing the current binding for f10.) I've tried several different codings and cant get it to work. I was hoping you might be able to help, if its not to much trouble.

    Thanks alot,
    ~Fox

I will have to try to make a way to test it if this doesn't work, but try replacing the F10 bind with:

    CHATPAD_KEY_0 + CHATPAD_SHIFT = KEYBOARD_KEY_F12 + KEYBOARD_LEFT_CONTROL

For instance, I have a test binding in my file like this:

    CHATPAD_KEY_1 + CHATPAD_GREEN = KEYBOARD_KEY_DELETE + KEYBOARD_LEFT_CONTROL + KEYBOARD_LEFT_ALT

As far as I know it works, making green + 1 do ctrl-alt-delete. Let me know if the above binds don't work for you.

Joined the forum to say congratulations on all your hard work on the driver and to keep it up.

I do like the idea of creating a new competition for the wireless drivers as well. Mainly because I only have a wireless controller.

I would be willing to help in whatever small way I can.

Hey, sorry it took me so long to get back. been a bit busy. Anyway, that coding you gave me worked just fine for that binding. Appreciate the help. Could have sworn I tried that exact one several times (Cause it seemed like the right one) but maybe I misspelled something or something minor like that.

    Anyway, Thanks!

    Gafblizzard,

You're a star. Have been using my xbox 360 controller + joy2key as a mouse on my living room pc for a few years now. We don't have a mouse or keyboard connected and have been using the on-screen keyboard for entering text. Yawn. Two weeks ago I stumbled across the existence of the chatpad and bought one on the assumption Microsoft supplied associated drivers. What a stroke of luck this purchase happened since you developed the driver! Developers like you are why I love the internet so much. I'll pop some funds in the prize pot for your hard work.

I had to use the test4.exe from this thread:

    http://code.google.com/p/chatpad-sup...es/detail?id=2

And once copied into the files, had to restart before it started working. Have done a number of restarts since and all is well. It's now set to start automatically. Now I just need to map the CTL key so I can zoom into web pages easier. I also advise that users fiddle with their windows mouse settings to smooth out the joystick movement.

One small thing... do you have any plans on getting a minimised icon into the system tray rather than the task bar?

Thanks again, you've greatly improved the functionality of our living room setup by speeding up browsing and emails on our TV.

    KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

These drivers are purfect for the MMO I'm playing. Phantasy Star online. I was able to get the 32 bit drviers working on my netbook and in terms of typing, but at the expense of my headset. My friends and I use Voip, so I'm keen to get the chatpad and headset working at the same time.

I got the kit that includes a headset for the bottom jack on the chatpad. Without the drivers active it works fine. But the instant I activate the driver, I lose the headset microphone input. Thankfully turning the drivers off restores the microphone, but to make full use of it I need the headset.

I looked around the topic but didn't find anything definative. Was wondering if someone here could help out.

    PC and Controller Stats

    Wired offical 360 controller.
Standard Chatpad and microsoft issue headset.

    AMD 1.7 processor
    2 gigs ram
    ATI 4000 series videocard
Windows 7 32bit Enterprise edition. (Thus, I don't have to deal with driver authentication problems.)

Cool. I was able to find a temp solution. I plugged in the headset AFTER activating the driver program. (not the driver installer) It's a little bit 50/50 to work, but it does give full functionality. I'll be interested to see if the drivers eventually do not require this.

Jordan, I've seen somewhat similar reports about the headset working or not working. It's good to hear that plugging it in afterwards seems to sometimes fix things. I suspect it might have to do with initialization codes that I am/am not sending, but it is hard for me to say without a headset with a small enough plug to work with the chatpad. I'm glad you have a 50/50 solution at least!
