Thread: CONTEST: Xbox Chatpad Driver Challenge

Aww thanks, you're doing my work for me. If you are okay with me incorporating your changes into the source I can try to do that when I get around to it.

I wanted to support trigger mapping as well, with a configurable sensitivity. Would it be hard to provide a configurable "trigger point" so that some people could require a full trigger press to trigger a "click", while others could use a slight trigger press if they prefer?

Are you still working on the driver for the Wireless controler ?

Ugh, I just bought the messenger kit for a wireless controller cuz i figured it was worth it over just buying headset but it won't work... I'm glad someone is working on a driver for this but ughhh do i really gotta buy another controller just for this? I'm going to use an android app that makes my phone work as keyboard in the meantime but it wouldn't be as convenient as the chatpad

lk808, do you mind if I release your source code modifications? Are you licensing them under the same license as the existing code?

You will all no doubt be excited to hear that I finally went to the store (Wal-mart) to get a wireless controller!

...of course, they didn't have one, besides the 360 wireless controller that doesn't have the Windows dongle. I guess I should just order the one from Amazon or whatever someone linked me to. If anyone has a link to the latest common wireless 360 controller with dongle that'd be great. I'm hoping that there aren't two varieties since I would only be getting one...

BTW, you should really work with Pinnacle Game Profiler to get this incorporated into their software. They're what I use to remap my controller buttons with incredible flexibility.

just signed up to say thanks, works brilliantly and it works great with xpadder i thought there would be conflicts. only problem is play.com sent me a bleedin azerty chatpad not cool. But well done on the driver!

Haha azerty...well at least you can remap the buttons if you like. :P

this is the message I always received, I am running window 7 64bit
xbox 360 controller from xbox it is white, it is working on any ms games and xppader works fine but
can't really make the chatpad works hope there are still member here will reply and try to help me,

Can you take a screenshot of your device manager, with "View->Devices By Connection" selected? And expand the devices related to the 360 controller or chatpad before you do, please. It looks like the virtual keyboard and mouse drivers may have some error icon, but I cn't tell for sure. Did you make sure to press F8 and disable signed drivers before Windows booted?
