That's awesome brandon! I actually posted a similar implementation just today as I am working a driver over at https://code.google.com/p/chatpad-su...y=&sort=&id=46

Funny that the wireless driver doesn't move for so long and now we may have a couple options

no kidding. there is a lot of talk about it around the web too. microsoft is just a shell of what it used to be as a software company. just look at windows 8... what a freakin joke

I'm not sure it fizzled out Both Brandon and I have working releases and I know of a few people using mine. It isn't perfect but that dream may have died. I'm still looking into other implementations that preserve the XInput functionality but Microsoft's driver doesn't play well with filter drivers, so it may be a show stopper.

You did some great work getting the wireless chatpad keyboard going. Unfortunately it doesn't give you a mouse and xpadder won't work with the libusb wireless receiver driver. Don't know if xpadder is still under development but it'd be great if the author could add this capability to his app.

I would like to know how to make mouse/windows mode ON by default when started?

my input is this driver is the only one ive tried that remains to be recognized as official xbox in games, all others use joy2key or something and require manually setting up controls. all wireless 'options' are unstable.

also for others,I have win7 32bit with xbox controller not made for windows. in case it helps others... the errors I initially got were.
    1. stop at filter part ... didn't restart because installer said I didn't have to
    2. stop at Microsoft virtual IO 31. had to unplug wireless dongle I think.
    3. finished all way and crash.... unplugged replugged same.
    4. ran as admin... no change
    5. read all posts and tried the "winxp_i386_chatpad_control_test4.exe". still crashed
    6. success after running "winxp_i386_chatpad_control_test4.exe' as admin and in compatibility mode for XPSP3. I edited the exe as such. but I wanted to have it run at start and have that cmd window hidden and never have to touch mouse and keyboard, ever. i put a shortcut in startup folder, but didn't work because you cant have UAC programs run at start up and would require clicking ok before you could use xbox controller. Even disabling UAC completely it still wouldn't work. Best choice was making a service out of it so that it auto starts and is hidden. Best tutorial was here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6o1AvZ06zc

or google srvany.exe, worked perfectly. also, if you cant read text after cmd crashes, start your own cmd window and launch it, Now on every restart it works without any user input, would just like to have it start with mouse control and not have to hit the People Button

    Hello guys,

I've installed all the drivers and run chatpad_control but chatpad not works.
    Description:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
    1. F8 after bios - disable drivers check (or smth like this)
    2. run chatpad_installer_amd64 - pressed ok everywhere, when windows ask if its needed to install - said yes, everything ends successfully
    3. run chatpad_control_amd64, black window with some lines of text appears - copy-pasted that in bottom
    4. chatpad dont light or respond on pressing keys (
    5. controller itself works.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
-wired controller (think its official windows controller (red package, screws with a "star", windows itself install xbox wired controller drivers for it)
-im not sure if chatpad is official thing where i bought it - but windows install xbox handset drivers when after my first connection chatpad to controller
-100% official windows 7 home edition, intel core i-7, 64

Please provide any additional information below.
From the "black window after chatpad_control_amd64 lunch":

    *****
Chatpad control utility version 0.1a started.
    *****
    Please wait...

    Control utility started.
    Opening chatpad filter driver.

Hello, I'm interested in helping to develop this, if it is still being worked on. it seems we have a working driver for wired, that just needs a bit of polishing to make it a bit more user friendly. I wouldn't mind helping to do that.

Also I am having a strange issue with GAFBlizzard's drivers. I got them to work once, but every time since they haven't worked, all the buttons, (including the main controller buttons don't work, and some combinations of modifier keys + a button show "No binding found for: <hex code>". It looks like all the buttons have been mapped to nothing, but I am using the default config file with no changes. I am running this on windows 8.
