I don't know how easy or difficult it is to do that with a virtual PC, but if you get it running, the first step would be to try the 0.09 XBox controller driver from http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/Pro...ller/OsxDriver and see if the chatpad works at all.

I have four macs, one running Tiger (10.4) and three Snow Leopard (10.6) and the chatpad doesn't work in none of them. I can only get to light up all the keys.

Apparently that driver worked under Leopard (10.5) only, but I haven't have a chance to try it. Also tryed to contact the author of the driver to see if I could fix the latest release to run on snow leopard, but without success.

Wow, interesting. I guess we'd really need to try it on a 10.5 OS X machine to be sure, then. I almost considered getting a $250-ish used Mac laptop with 10.5 to test, but I thought maybe I could find someone else with one.

Rifleking, I agree that it could be suspicious if only one person says they got the chatpad working on Mac, but that person actually posted USB logs (and more importantly, logs that made sense and included the chatpad sending messages). I think it would have been really hard for someone to fake that.

    *edit*

    From the Mac driver site:
"Sadly, my PowerMac has died, which as my primary development machine has slowed progress."

Someone I know is going to try 64-bit and maybe 32-bit Intel OS X 10.5, but we don't have a way to test with a PPC 10.5 OS X that I know of. I suspect that PPC may be the problem here. The device listing for the Intel OS X shows the chatpad endpoint, but I seem to recall the endpoint addresses being different from the Mac logs that Jeduars originally posted, so maybe PPC Macs enumerate endpoints differently than Intel Macs, and maybe the Mac driver author could have hardcoded something to an endpoint address that's not valid on other systems.

Awesome news! So it seems that it works on an Intel Mac with OS X 10.6. And also, the controller from a console may be an important point since the one for Windows is what I and my other Mac tester have been testing with, if I'm not mistaken. I might have to see if I can get my hands on one. If the normal 360 controller works and the Windows one cannot, that would be pretty awful, Microsoft. :P

What did you do exactly to be able to type with the chatpad? I install it on my mac, attach the chatpad to the controller and insert it into the usb.

Then when I press the keys the chatpad lights up, but no characters appear on screen. Am I missing any step?

Is your 360 controller a "made for Windows" branded one, or one that was a plain old XBox 360 normal one? My current theory is that only the 360 ones work on Macs.

If your controller is for Windows, do you know anyone who owns an XBox 360, and can you try it (with the chatpad) on the 360, and make sure the Windows controller works with the 360, pressing buttons on the chatpad? My biggest fear is that it won't. :P

I see, my controllers are both "made for windows". I'm going to try to find a console one and try it again with the chatpad, if it makes any difference it could be useful for windows drivers too.
