https://gist.github.com/settra/5eabcb597c66412b3a88 this is the sketc i use for Controlling ac and power windows. i also use the "Delay" func in there take a look, to have an idea how would you control the module from pc

https://gist.github.com/settra/3dd2c3bbd5a430b32b49 (i will try to clean it later ) this is the java app i use to control them from the pc. i created using eclipse! it has 2 "classes" the "mainclass" which is used for the GUI, and data colection, and the "serialcomclas" which is used to transmit/receive data from the arduino. it also requires allot of images which there is no need to send You will also need to use the RXTXlibrary for java.
if you haven't written java before (like i did :P ) , its better to start with tutorials of youtube, and then just copy-paste parts of my code. here is a pic so you have an idea what too look for

oh settra. that looks awesome, man. that is exactly what I want to create. good job, and ty. still gotta take another look at your delay without delaying thing. but will have to do it in a few days. right now I am in building mode. got the duraglass, sandpaper, dremel, plastic, plastic weld, primer and paint out. here is a pic I just took of my current progress. I have duraglassed over both sides of the plastic. so now my structure is rigid. next I will sand and shape with the goals of straight lines and something that will blend in with and look like it belongs in my car's interior.

test fitting the basic structre to the car to make sure everything lines up, fits, and is somewhat level. I am pretty happy about how this is coming out and wish I did this when I first built my carpc.

settra, I love what you showed me so much, I gotta have it. i'm not even gonna remount a/c controls. my temp door is cable driven and tight to operate, but all the other doors are electric. think with your copy & paste permission, i'm gonna build my version of it. but to clarify, this java program will work in windows 8 or 8.1?

JAVA is cross-platform. it will work evenin your phone but in order to "succeed" in creating and running the program, you will neeed some exerssise in java...
my ac was cable drive also! i pulled it out, and had Servos, attached to every door of the AC, so that i completly conntrol it . Just be aware, that your ac might have many components, that you will have to be absolutly sure, about what they do, in order to remove/re-wire them cause else it might stop working... :/

I am in a sweet spot to make this happen. my Honda's control head only sends grounds to move all the doors. no pwm, no feedback. basic. primitive even. there is a module that controls the mode doors but it is separate from the control head, and uses grounds sent by the control head. i'm not even gonna pretend like I understand your java program you showed me. but with youtube tutorial on my side, I will have this implemented in my car soon.

cool! then it will be rather easy you are just gonna have to use trial and error to find how much time should the "grounds" last . just make sure the grounds do not sink more than 40mA if u wire them directly to the arduino .
if you dont wante to change anything, then the program dosent really have anything hard to understand

all the phots you will use, need to be in the same folder as the .jar. there should also be the RXTX .dlls's which you can download from google.. there has to be a .txt with "COM4" or whatever com port your arduino is on, written in it
finally, all the .jars need to be run, not by double clicking, but by a command in the terminal, (i do that with autohotkey )
