you can do that using a software and not worry about it...

frodoplayer sends that command to start it anyways.

We have been giving the skd and/or byte code to anyone that ask, so most software out there will support the xm direct soon. frodo, mmc 5.6 ,timetrax and our exem player work at this time that I know of, also our exem player can be down loaded for free on our site if you want a stand alone player.
