Here's a nice PIC12F629 Development Kit. This lets you test your firmware without swapping chips or wires. It has a built in PIC Programmer and comes with a plastic hood enclosure to keep the circuit sealed up once you are ready to deploy. It also works with PIC12F675 and PIC12F683 chips.
