As I was checking my email, I got one from mp3car regarding an update to this thread. I immediately clicked on the link and noticed there was a video of the radio working. I downloaded the video and both my wife and I sat here and watched it.
    Sorry to hear that

Crap. I thought that said MPG, not MP3. Thanks, I feel silly now.

I just hope it sounds that good in a moving vehicle. By looking at all the research and planning that has gone into this, I'm sure it will be just fine. Keep up the great work!

It sounded great to me... but as we all know this is stationary. The real test is in a moving vehicle. I remember the radio xtreme sounded great until the car started moving.

    It's great preliminary results though.

Sounds great! About the driver, will the driver be open source (or at least the specifications) so I can write a driver for Linux? Good to hear things are coming along.

The goal is to make everything public. I just updated the FAQ to make this clearer.

one major but probably dumb question: is the audio output in stereo on the fm side? in the mp3 clip, the fm part of it was in mono from what i could tell. other than that, it sounded great.

Yes, it's in the FAQ. Remember, those are just preliminary test results.

The board works just like a standard HU radio. It decodes seperate L/R FM channels and routes the audio out the F/R stereo pairs. The board can control volume, balance, fading, bass, treble, and select between AM/FM and Line-In1, Line-In2.
