    Wow, there is so much traffic in this thread -- yet the FAQ hasn't changed a bit!

    As Seth clearly said, the only thing new is that we're now planning to release multiple solutions, the one you've seen and potentially another targeted more at the do-it-yourself folks. When more information is known about the DIY implemenation a new thread will be started.

    Other than that, there is nothing else new. We aren't taking pre-orders and there isn't a list for pre-orders either. How the assembled product will be distributed is still TBD. There also isn't a completion date nor even an estimate of one. The final cost, for either solution, is also still unknown.

    The FAQ is still your single source of UP TO DATE information.

    Film at eleven.
    Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

    Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

    How about one of you say Seth Rando or whoever starting up a paypal account to ofset the cost of building the first unit. Somebody somewhere has had to fork out for the components to build it. Everybody who is so keen to get there hands on one should be prepared to donate a couple of bucks into it to help with the initial outlay on components and perhaps help the costing needed to set up a production run. I am not sugesting that we all send a lot, only one or two dollars to help the developers. Judging by the amount of traffic on this subject there are a lot of people waiting to gain from somebody elses hard work and a pure donation (with no strings or expectations attached) of a couple of bucks may help speed the project along. If somebody who is prominent in this thread posts a paypal account I will donate the change thats lying in my paypal account. to help the monies already spent or tools/supplies needed to start the production. I am not posting this for any gain and do not wish anybody to send me any cash as I have had no part in the development. Only that I see somebody somewhere spending there cash for my possible gain.

    question how come you only spot the spelling mistakes after you post?

    Well, I could be mistaken, but I believe Seth already stated that he didn't want any donations. (If wrong please correct me)
    My guess is that, as it is a sort of commercial venture, that he is going to profit when it is released. (rightfully so I might add)

    Let me clarify that this is IMO and based on a memory that has seen better days.

    All I can say is that we're working with mp3car.com in order to get these babies available through the on-line store so if everything goes well you'll be able to order on-line.
    At some point we'll ask you to sign on a pre-order list so that we get an idea of how many peeps are interested. Remember this is not a commercial venture and we don't have the luxury to mass produce and/or stock units.

    That's all for now
    I can help you with a mass production. It is possible to start it here in Latvia relatively cheap (much cheaper production costs) and under most demanding quality standards. We have all the precision equipment and knoleadge to run small series production and testing of assembled units. Our speciality is precision satellite timing system production, so we have all the laboratory RF testing equipment and production lines. You can get all the information on our possibilities here. We have also an access to parts supliers so all we need to set up a production is:

    1) a working assembled and tested prototype board;
    2) board blueprint and schematics in P-CAD format;
    3) parts list;
    4) software to control the board;
    5) desired casing guidelines if the board needs one.

    And, of course, we need to know the volume of the first lot to set the actual price for the product. Then we can set up the production and supply the units to USA market through MP3Car.com store and to European customers, if any, as well.

    I'd like to thank you for your offer but we decided not to accept any donations until we deliver what promised. We'd like to see donations (if any) from people who enjoy what they have at hand and not from people that expect something to be delivered. Besides we cannot predict what will happen tomorrow or the day after...maybe for some reason we couldn't deliver the unit.
