Here's the mess inside. The board on bottom houses the signal processors, tuner, and all the line in/out passive circuitry. The board (upside down) on top holds the +5V and 8.5V power supplies, the microcontroller (not in use yet) and a rs232 line level converter (also not in use yet). There also a bunch of excess solder traces and junk on that top board because it's actually the remnant of the failed V0.1 CRAM EM. :lol:
man now you got me wanting to get one of these tuners to play with

And for true comic value, here's what the failed V0.1 CRAM EM looked like. Warning kids, don't try to attach a QFP44 like this!!!!
The huge board (4"x4") at the bottom of CRAM V0.2 EM is an adapter for the QFP44 signal processor. In other words, it let's us make a proper solder connection of that part to the circuit.

As a project, it's clear we are heading down a path of producing 1, 2 or possibly 3 working solutions. The more the merrier in my book. :D
