I bought mine online, but I'm sure I'm sure it can be purchased in a B&M store. I'd try calling some electrical supply places if you really want to pick it up in person, otherwise I'd froogle it.

I forgot to mention another plus, which is, that it heats up very quickly (perhaps 15-20 seconds, if even that long).

Can someone please tell me if I got the wrong freaking cable... I bought this one here and I want to hook it straight to my EPIA M10000 motherboard. I'm not sure if this is the V1 or the V2. Please someone let me know because I already got it all soldered together and now I'm thinking it's the wrong one.

    Man, I hope not

Ok... According to the pinout directions:

    Cable Pinout
    8 pin mini-diin to db9
    pin 1 = pin 3 Data Receive
    pin 2 = pin 2 Data Transmit
    pin 3 = pin 5 Ground
    pin 6 = 12v
    pin 7 = 12v
    pin 8 = gnd

    And this picture:

I don't think the pinouts above is correct is it? The Epia manual says that Pin 3 is "Send out or Transmit Data" but the pinout directions have:

    8 pin mini-diin to db9
    pin 1 = pin 3 Data Receive

And then the Epia manual says that pin 2 = "Serial In or Receive Data" but the pinout directions have:

    8 pin mini-diin to db9
    pin 2 = pin 2 Data Transmit

So what I'm asking is this... If I'm hooking it directly to my motherboard via riser cable shouldn't it be as follows:

    8 pin mini-diin to db9
    pin 1 = pin 2 Data Receive
    pin 2 = pin 3 Data Transmit

I'm no expert, but i think what they mean is that the tx from the XM goes to the rx on the mobo and the rx from the XM goes to the tx on the board.. what you are desribing sounds like tx -> tx and rx -> rx which won't work......at least that's how i read that lol

yes it's not going to match up in that situation because when I made the directions I was using them with a db9 serial connector

    so you would be correct

Well I got conflicting replies... So is it supposed to match up?

    XM TX to MB TX
    XM RX to MB RX

    or

    XM TX to MB RX
    XM RX to MB TX

Ok, have a couple questions. I have this all hooked up in my truck. Am I supposed to use the included app (Take 3 FP > Menu > XM Radio) or the FrodoSatelliteRadioXAlpha3.exe?

Either way I'm not getting nothing. With the first option I just get the screen but no bars or anything.

With the alpha program I just get a solid blue screen (not locked up, just that prog is solid blue).

I changed the ini file to point to com2.

The link to that XMTest program isn't valid.

    Any ideas?

My cable is getting 12V's so I know it's getting good power / ground.

    Thanks
