Can anyone help me find a link to TouchXM? all of the links here on the forums seem to be dead ends. I have tried over and over to get Frodoplayer to work but I always get an error before the program starts stating that

"MSCOMCTL.OCX or one of its dependencies is not correctly registered...blah blah....."

I just wanted to see what I have wrong and I really would like to try TouchXM

Have you tried registering the file manually? regsvr32 (filename)will do it for you if the file exists. You may have to type in the entire path to the file. I have a copy of another XM program if you send me an email address that can handle about two mb, Ill send it to you. I dont have a copy of touch XM. Which XM device are you using?

I am using the TERK XMD1000 and a home made cable. I actually got the unit functioning, and I am using a variety of different programs for access and control, S.R.C., and I just started using one called Mobile Impact (MI) but I am up to try whatever. I want to get frodo player to work, I can get it to open now but unfortunately, I still cant seem to get it to talk with the receiver. I like the look of Frodo, and I would Really like to find TouchXM, but like I said I would like to try a few programs see what I am up against for the total system.

    Thank You For This Thread!!!!!!

This thread is a lifesaver!! I just picked up a Terk XMD module on eBay for $31 with a $30 rebate and the parts to make a cable for about $12. 30 minutes later and I have XM in RR!

I figured this would take me a few tries to get the cable right, but managed to get it right on the first shot. I opted not to go the solder route and instead went with the crimp connectors from rat shack (276-1428). Crimping is much easier than soldering when working with those thin wires IMO. Not sure if it helps, but I used a shielded hood as well (276-1513).

One thing I discovered is half of my cable matched the color pinout and the other half was a mirror image. The cable must cross the signals from one end to the other. At any rate, the other half of the cable worked out to be:
    1: Red
    2: Brown
    3: Green
    4: Yellow
    5: Orange
    6: Black
    7: Purple
    8: Blue

    For what it's worth...

The Mini Din 8 connector -- is that the same connector that is on the end of PS/2 style mouse cable? If not, has anyone found the proper connector at Best Buy or radio shack? I've been looking and haven't seen anything that looked correct.

We don't have a Frys in Minnesota. I may be able to locate an apple serial printer cable though. I don't think Best Buy or rat shack has them but Compusa might. I'll have to do some more looking. I was hoping to find stuff locally today so that I could get to work on it.
