Umm probably a stupid question for yall but if you use this hacked cable, do you still need to provide power to the 4pin connector on the XM direct unit or does the hacked cable 12V inputs provide the power to power the unit?

Just want to say thanks to you guys and to i-hacker.com for the great pics and tutorial. I now have made a functioning DirectXM to PC cable out of my spare parts bin and it works perfectly! I can post pics if anyone wants to see it, but it looks like all the rest. I just don't have an LED showing it is powered. I may add that later though.
