Kenwood Cd-Changer To AUX. Input

Would I be able to use a 100k resistor?? or a couple of 1.5k resistors instead of a 10k resistor, I've been on holidays and havent been able to get out.

you can use 2 100k resistors in parallel or 7 1.5k resistors in parallel. I don't know if other values are acceptables. you can try some values you have.

This is my lil diagram to understand what you mean

Diagram:

Parallel is that? or is that series, i always get the 2 confused.

P.S- I just found 10x1k resistors, i might just use dthem in series since im soldering it to the mainboard anyway, no one will see and i can do it neatly :) Thanks for all your help.

i have tried this with my KDC-MP7018 and it works great :D

then i tired with my mates HU which is a little newer and got nothing :( so obviously the pin outs are diffrent to the ones above. has anybody got a diffrent set of pinouts. or has got it to work but not using the above pinouts?

I have 2 other pinouts from a KRC. but none of them worked for me.

on both pinouts I have posted before, the resistor isn't needed... But if it doesn't work.. try to insert the 10k resistor.

The resistor is needed if U want to build this adaptor:

NOTE: the resistor is 10K not 100k ;)

on the second day of using this mod on my KDC-MP7018 it didnt work. i checked the resistor and yes i had used a 100k not a 10k. poped a 10k in there and its been sweet since. so i'd say thats what the problem was with my mates. strange that the 100k worked for a bit in mine then died. but there is no point in trying to do this mod to my mates car as he is selling it now.

But the resistor must be 10K N O T 100K !!!
Try with a 10K resistor... I don't know why the resistor worked for a bit and then died.. :confused:
