I think the current flowing through it is few milliamperes so a 1/4 watt resistor is suitableQuote:

I have a Kenwood KDC 4007 and am trying to get an AUX input working. The CA-C1AX doesn't work for me as it is an older model ('95-'98 or so).

The result is a "NO CH" or "CH NO" message when I try to select the CH changer source.

Using the shielding wire on the outside as the ground and the center wire as the signal, I soldered them for a stiff insertion and plugged them into 6 & 12 and then 6 & 8 with a signal coming through the wire, ready to be heard and the unit was on and turned up, but nothing was heard.
Am I doing something wrong? Using the wrong pinout? I saw these too:

as far as i can tell ur doing it right.
i used a 1W resistor but i rekon 1/4w is fine.
it might be that the pinouts you used are not for your HU. try the other two.

I tried the other two pinouts and couldn't even get the CH NO message when I moved the resistor, so it MUST be the 1st pinout. I now assume that I the CH NO message is what I want to see to know that it is taking input from the "CD changer/AUX" input. But what am I doing wrong with the audio cables?
ok well on mine i cant even get acces to the changer menue unless i have the resistor in there.
so without resistor:
all off > tuner > cd > all off > tuner > cd > etc etc
but with resistor i get:
all off > tuner > cd > disc aux > all off > tuner > cd > disc aux > etc etc
do you get something similar?
double check you have the correct pins and that nothing is shorting out. (dont forget to check the plug at the other end of the cable) check you actually have a 10k (as u may of read the 100k worked for me but not for very long so double check you have a 10k)
and finally do you have an actual cd changer u could test the HU with? or a mates one or something.
edit: mine says the word "disc" then "aux" it stays on the word "aux" never seen it display "CH NO" but this could just be that we have very diffrent HUs
Yes, mine is working similar with, then without the resistor, so I assume that part is correct. I dont get the word AUX, but rather just the CH NO when it is not playing Tuner or CD, so CH NO is the 3rd position. With the Head Unit in CH NO mode, I can't get audio to come through, no matter where I plug the audio cables, so it seems. I have no cd-changer to see if that works, sorry.
