If you can't find them locally, mouser or digikey has them at a reasonable price and fairly quick shipping (only 2 days to CA from Mouser).

Once you have the V1 plugged into the computer and setup thru USB how does the computer handle the data? I see that you have a program made but how would you go about using the information to write your own program?

Hi everybody... I'm waiting eagerly for the cable, but I'm facing a bigger problem so far...: The people at www.valentine1.com won't ship their products outside the U.S and certain Canadian provinces, so they are not shipping to my country.

Has anyone managed to get a V1 sent to a country other than US and Canada? If so, where did you purchase the V1, and how much it was?... And finally, is there anyone who (properly funded prior to shipping...and with some reasonable margin of course) could purchase de V1's for us and get them shipped to Spain?. Several friends of mine are craving for one of these beauties... mostly after the government has announced harder prosecution of speedin drivers...

Any comments/suggestions/decent proposals please mailme: [email protected]

Check out EBay. I've seen several V1's on there. You may end up paying a bit more for shipping but you'll still have one.

So I was thinking, and this may be slightly excessive but totally cool-

A lot of people with CarPCs also have a GPS receiver. Couldn't it be possible to record the GPS coordinates everytime an alert (or specific alerts, depending on filters you set?) occurs? This data file could then easily be imported into your favorite mapping/navigation software. That way you can record known "hot spots" where a cop likes to sit and be alerted as you approach these areas by your GPS software.

Just an idea- I think it would be pretty neat, one of those "check out what I can do" kind of things.

Plus if enough people do it, they could post their data files online ... for uh... backup purposes

Yarrrg...... I was looking for this post to concept this idea but in relation to spots you dont care for.

Example is a publix that you pass by all the time, you mute it on five different occasions then the computer recognizes this as a constant and then auto mutes it on a pass by via GPS.

PS. I cant wait till premade ones are done because I hope I will have my puter up by then.

Sucks cant have the concealed display as well as the computer.

    Hello,

I'm a little bit late on this post, 'cause I was thinking I had subscribed to it, but it seems that no....

Concerning the GPS<>hotspots by recording GPS positions of alert, we could need a kind of hotkey to decide which one we want to record, because of the false alerts....
Here in france we already have those kind databases, to use it with GPS software only ( RD are illegal ). Each time a guy of the GPS forum pass in front of a speedtrap or laser control, he takes GPS position, et then put it on the forum...
The database is updated every week

Personnaly, owning a V1, I don't need and don't want this kind of database for my self ( except for our automatic radars which are detected very late : sometime under 100 meters.... ;(( ).
But why not recording those hotspot , to put it on a map ( like in autoroute express ) and thenafter, at home taking time to verify their, and decide which one are false alerts ( automatic door, etc.... ), and then thru a little interface, deciding which ones I want to mute definitively....

PS : Zpilott : concerning those kind of ideas, don't you prefer us to put it in a dedicated thread, or directly in "comments" of one of your News on your website ?
