Thread: Via's Mini-ITX IR Module for $1

Whilst this looks like a nifty circuit, if you checkout the WinLirc (Windows users or Lirc for *nix users) project.

The circuit is as simple, if not simpler. Whilst the circuit is primarily for a com port, there are some variations for the FIR/CIR ports as well.

I've built the receiver only portion and have it directly connected to the com 2 header pins on my mobo (looks very OEM, apart from the piece of veroboard the components are soldered to).

Works like a charm.
