Yeah that's it electrochromic glass. I believe it's whats in the roofs of the Maybachs too (Yummy those cars are just incredible).

Yep or even if you did a true 5.1 setup in an older car with a flatter winshield you could project the screen onto the blacked out front winshield from the back of the car (and of course black out all of the other windows to it would look good).
this is some nice technology.... you could have 5% tint during the day, and almost nothing during nite.
also no poblems anymore on inspections...
sweet
i guess it's worth more than any of our cars though...
there is bound to be a place that'll sell a sheet with + and - inputs
cant find a place myself
hello by the way.
(this thread got me looking at this site)
Dont they do that to bentley sunroofs using LCD technology?
I dont know if this is way off the mark but also these is some dimming technology in the electronic rear-view mirrors. Back in college a couple students built a window for the home using the same technology to help make the home more energy efficient.
i've posted about this, and so has wizardpc.....SPD/smart windows......and similar windows cost about $2000 for 18"x12". Apparently maybachs have it as an option (i think its maybachs that have it...maybe its something fancier). The technology is too expensive to be practical right now

My work log
yeh maybach, not bentley.. i couldnt find it anywhere when i posted yesterday. sorry for the mis-info.
On the maybach you can like cloud the sunroof, make it clear, or opaque.
This technology has been used in a lot of cars, not just high end cars, a friend of mine's Dad has a 91 Buick Riveria, i think its a 91, anyways, on his rear view mirror there is a button you can push that tints the glass, its for if someone behind has high beams on, most rear views just tilt, but his tints, i'm sure lots of other cars have this option.
yeah, my bimmer has that in the rearview mirror. it has a photoresister cell in it, and when it detects brighter light it dims it electronically.
