Hey bro, I hope you get that fixed, but I doubt its just the fuse box you will be needing, id be looking into some wiring harnesses... and some other new stuff... you dont want to replace your fuse box and have it happen again. good luck bro.

Fact is...if its one of the higher profile member told that story I bet the response will be opposite.

Yes, but a higher profile member didn't just join a mp3player for cars thread to complain about his truck. Regardless, I was hard on him at first but I did give him a suggestion.

i spend alot of time reading threads on this site, just to read and obtain information(like everyone here does), and than i will have my own questions, and throughout this forum there are the higher profile members that are hard on noobies but if you read really deep, you will find their first post or a post from them a long long time ago and there was some higher bitrate member who was tough on them. its like george carlin said, "to weed out the weeker ones". like hassing. some of the rookies dont come back because they were run of, and some do, but smarter. thats just how it is. ive asked stupid question before and people posted in reply wtf? why are you doing that? and so on. but its what the person asking wants or thinks. but if you didnt have noobs than you would have a reason for this forum other than to show of your car...and thats what photobucket is for.

i will give credit on the posting in the wrong place. but sorry to hear about your truck. my little brother almost burned his out. and i can imagine how it must suck, because the truck my little brother had was mine. he just decided that it was his to mess with. but he melted the fuse box a while later, and i found one at a local junk yard. cost me 10 bucks, its was only a couple for the pieces themselfs, but i had to use one of thier tools so it was like 4 more bucks. i paid someone to put it in. total cost for me in a dodge dakota was i think around $90 bucks.

thats my opinion and answer. but it doesnt matter.

Well some see their post count like a karate belt. The one who learnt a little have the attitude of "I can now beat white belts cuse Im a yellow belt."

It is amazing how this attitude can get to mp3car forum. For god sake leave your belt in your karate class...what a yellow belt gonna do? polish mr miyagis car?

    Post count means jack****...

No, no. It's not the postcount. There's a sequence of events that must occur before most people would give a ****. First you introduce yourself, then build rapport (what's the best monitor?), then at the point when someone knows you from Adam, hit them with the bad news. It's just like asking for a blowjob.

i went to the dealership, and since the basic warranty expired in march, they told me to talk to toyo customer service. i called them up and their on it. they're sending out a technician to inspect the damage, and then most likely they'll fix it. for god sakes the truck only has 36,000 miles on it.

thanks for the replies. i enjoy constructive criticism.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have any problem (and I'm sure most of us wouldn't) with a moderately established member asking a question like that (provided it was in the right forum...)

But it was his FIRST POST, meaning he specifically chose this forum to ask that question. I would expect exactly the same kind of flame response if I were to go to a dedicated automotive repair forum, and with my first post, ask them about how to get a shutdown controller to work with an inverter, or something like that. Sure, you might find a couple of people who happen to know something, but why would you specifically choose that forum instead of one that actually has to do with your question?

I'm sure nobody will hold anything against him if he does decide to stick around and become a member of the forum and actually talk about carPC's, but so far he hasn't, and hasn't expressed any interest in doing so. I'm not saying we shouldn't have answered his question (and he did get about all the answer he should need), but I don't think we're entirely unjustified in questioning his reasoning...

If he wants to move the discussion over to an actual toyota forum, I've got at least one friend who'd be more than happy to discuss it.
But don't take it from me! here's a quote from a real, live newbie:
