Smol> Post #110 It could be my win install that is causeing Radiator to crash.. cause radiator crashes sometimes using other DLLs as well. But I still cant figure out how to get the audio working on the few times it doesnt crash.

I hope the software for this is not being left for dead, as this USB device is a pretty good alternative to the expensive HQCT.

Also PM Wickerswammie, he may be able to hook you up with his RR dll!

I ordered one of these from mouser.com when it recently became available again and I decided I'd try it out (only 40 bucks shipped, the HQCT is much more and MP3Car.com never shown it in stock, plus I got tired of waiting).

I'm sure the HQCT is much better quality, but the price, requirement that audio travel over yet another wire, and constant out of stock nature of the beast just made me look elsewhere.

Anyway, I found the source online, modified it (extensively) to work from a DLL, added a Radiator interface and have been testing it on my home pc. My only gripe with the source is it uses the winapi instead of direct sound, which I may have to correct one day.

Reception is pretty good in my apartment, not near a window with the little puny wire included. I tried it in my truck and the reception sucks if the wire is laying on the floorboard, but if I put it anywhere near a window it gets good in a hurry.

I'm going to see how it works if I connect the wire to my stock antenna this weekend.

If anyone is interested in my radiator compatible plugin dll, PM me and I'll send you a copy.

I think that method only works for tuners which are PCI, or which use some type of chip. I gave it a brief shot but it didnt even get half way. I think it looked for a PCI card which it never found.. so I couldnt go any further.

I did contact WickerSwammie (IIRC), but no response.

dammit, u tried reading the radiator site, its got a support section which tells u how to configure a dll for it. If shipping wasnt such a ***** to australia i would be able to help you out, but i cant find anywhere that will ship here for a reasonable price

I have just ordered this from Braemac in Melbourne for $45 AUD. plus $10.50 for shipping. There is a three to 4 week wait for stock as it is on top of their ordinary orders. Braemac are the AUS distributor for SiLabs.

Had no worries with them getting the order in. It should arrive by the end of Jan.

This is always a problem, and its one of the things that really P!$$£$ me off about this damn group, is that we can all help each other by sending the damn money to someone in the country where its cheap, and then getting it mailed on cheaply to each other.

If you page back in this thread and in other threads, I have often offered to paypal US currency to someone to get something for me, plus a bit for themselves, to have no one offer to do it!

How hard can it be !

In the early days of the .net it went on all the time, people helping and trusting each other.
