Funny you had issues too... I was trying to make my connection a bit more robust by anchoring it with electrical tape and the next time i plugged it in... Nothing. I'm going to have to take it into work with me to look at it under a 'scope to see if i trashed any traces or leads on the ICs. crap!
jjnit did u put the plastic cover back on the board? i just hope you didnt short circuit it or something with a piece of metal behind your dash...
Yep - I even put a 2" piece of heat shrink over the cover and zip ties to make it neater and maybe help insulate from vibration, etc.
I cut that away this morning to see if maybe something slipped and maybe fractured the lead but no.
I don't have a scope so I'll just desolder and redo in the next couple of days when i get a chance. I used a pair of hemostats around the pad as heatsinks so I don't think I burned up a trace? We'll see.
I was attempting to avoid adding an additional connector in line as Bj had on his images by going directly into the aerial lead, maybe that caused a problem too.
Regardless, this piece, as cheap as it is, is worthless to me if I can't get it connected to a decent antenna so I'll work on that this week![]()

I have an ADS USB FM tuner (instant FM) it uses same chip (SILAB) but it doesn't work with SILAB reference driver/program. Anybody could help me ?

BJ> Could you post your reception level using the App that a member here developed for stations which you receive very clearly.
I am getting values between 43-57 however there is still static on the audio
I have used a small signal booster (which gives a boost of between 5-10 points).
I'm trying to figure out if the signal strength value actually means anything, or if cable type (ohmage) is more important.
