Do you have the data sheet for the Si4701? That could be quite useful!
rando,
I ordered mine from mouser, and possobly soon I'll get it. Also I found a site selling a Philips TEA5768 radio module. It's used for the same application as the Si4701, but it has no RDS/RBDS features. An SAA6588 must be added to get RDS/RBDS. Also the TEA5764 is the newer version of the TEA5768 with RDS/RBDS. Philips sent me the app notes and control software for the TEA5768 but they won't sell me a demo board so I'm building my own. I requested control software and application notes for the TEA5764, I may get that too, hopefully,
The antenna input of the Si4701 uses an impedance matching circuit, I think. You need an impedance matching circuit for a 50, 75, or 300 ohm antenna from what it leads me to believe from looking at the limited usb fm radio app note. Since your antenna isn't mastched to the input impedance of the matching circuit the recption could be affected. This is pure speculation, as I really don't know.

The datasheet is under NDA and I never got one yet. If I did I definately would not be able to release it or probably even talk about it. I'm still waiting for them to get back to me about it.

My order got cancelled
"Your backordered item 634-USBFMRADIO-RD has been discontinued and there is no replacement listed. I have cancelled this off the order."
This suck.
Here's another place ... looks a bit more expensive.

I just ordered mine a week ago. I have a feeling I might not get it now....
Just contacted the Dutch distributor about the USB radio.
Hopefully they can give me a good price!
Waiting for an answer......![]()
Look 2 pages back and you'll know what the unit has to cost in Holland... ;-)Originally Posted by rpd
