My device can use a trigger wire from any alarm. Read description.Originally Posted by GreenBeast
i'm looking for solution that uses a trigger from my clifford alarm to tell my opus to turn on but then the key takes over control. so that when i take it out it takes the signal away immediately.
i hibernate using software and i take the key out before it finishes, that way i lose the speaker thump i was getting
any ideas?

i'm gonna have to think about my current system design and wiring.
at the mo i have no power up or power down thump and the the key handles bootup but software handle hibernate. but the key signal needs to be cut before hibernate finishes, not a problem now but what about with your system?
i have one wire going to the boot which gets an ignition signal and i don't want to rip my car apart again to put another one in just to handle the amplifier separately
do you understand?
I don't exactly understand what you mean. The way I understood is:Originally Posted by GreenBeast
1. You provide the 12VDC to your computer from ignition wire.
2. When you turn-off the ignition (cut the 12VDC signal), your computer goes to the hibernate mode.
Is this correct?
i've done a bit of investigation and it seems my alarm can output a timed signal, so i can use that to boot the pc and then the key takes control (by the time i take the key out at end of journey the timer is over)
but thanks for your patience
i like the logis remote thing but i dont need any of the other features. Basicly i want a fob that can turn on the computer, i dont need temp sensors and all that rubbish and have no room for that device.
Is there something that is basicly like that but cut down and smaller otherwise i may either go for the solution of wiring the device made upto my cars wiring (if i can find out where to wire it to eg unlock wires) or ill just get the logis thing and cut it up removin half the rubbish on it and probably mounting it outside the case so im just using the remote.
I prefer the exsternal remote idea cos i dnt wana find nout where my lock and unlock wires are etc and also with a seperate fob i will be able to unlock the car without it turning the pc on.
