Not that I'm interested myself, but I've got many questions of people who came across the project and don't have SPDIF out.A local chain has an usb sound card for 10€ (actually 9.99, VAT included), I'm not sure it has spdif output but I'd be very surprised if it hasn't.
Yes, like on most major electronic components sites, anybody qualifies I think. I just filled in my personal data and my company name, but I doubt they make any check on the company existence or activity. I guess it wouldn't be worth the work for two 4.5$ chips (street price - they have it at no cost). However, does anybody qualifies for free samples?(I don't want to register only to find that I don't)
Anyway, I always try to sound the most professional possible : don't use a hotmail e-mail (if possible use one that matches the company name), give your company street address if possible, etc.
But a few years ago, I remember having received tons of components and books from TI at my personal address while I didn't have a job or company name. My mother was upset because the postman always rang at the door because the books were too large for the mailbox :-)
BTW, how do you think I got the MAX3232 ? :-)
Well, if you use a fake account with fake personal data, don't be surprised if they send the samples to a fake address ! :-)Edit: ok, bugmenot to the rescue.
