    Just a simple question:
Would it be possible to connect an Ipod to the head unit, if you own the original CD Charger?

    Yes, it is possible.

You have 2 ways to do this.

1., Fm modulator. I think this one has poor sound quality.

2., You can connect it through the changer port of the head unit, but then you have to make a switch witch selects Ipod or changer. Like the ones on the forum. If you choose to do this, then you have to emulate the cahnger's communication and you will require an analog-to-SPDIF converter. Like the one I'm worikng on.

Not necessarily. The advantage of owning a CD Changer is that you can keep the control wires connected to the changer and only switch the spdif wires between actual CDC and external source.
I used this setup for more than one year and it works perfectly. Just load a few CDs into the CD Changer and let them play to please the head unit, but feed it with another sound. The only drawback is that every 60-80 minutes, when the CDC skips to the next CD, the sound mutes for a few seconds. Not a big deal if you ask me...
and you will require an analog-to-SPDIF converter. Like the one I'm worikng on.
Yes, you can't avoid that unless you have a device with spdif-out...

    Hello All,

I'm new here, I need some help but first I need to congratulate the users like you guys who make an excellent work testing new ideas.

I just install a Alpine IVA W200 unit on my Megane 2 , with Bluetooth connection and Rear Cam.

I'm trying to make the Steering Remote control interface using the PAC SWI-ALP.

I need if somebody knows the functions on the Yellow connector that comes from the Display.

    Pin 1 DTA
    Pin 2 CLK
    Pin 3 MRO
    Pin 4 Not Used
Pin 5 Data In Radio Info
    Pin 6 Ground

I need what the hell the first 3 pins does.

Maybe Data , Clock and Remote.

    I really appreciate any help.

    Thanks

    Daniel

I have vdo probably dc259 car stereo in renault megane 2000 y.
So what i need,i need to open aux IN on the radio,i need to connect MP3 player(ipod,w800i)whatever source on the AUX IN,so does enyone have a shemtaci diagram,or how to conect pins for the signal for the AUX ON on the radio.
    Please help me.

I just dont know, whats the theme in this thread with this spdif/usb line in,why do you make this, and a lot word for atmels and other procesors???
Dont say that for line in/AUX IN i need this stuff, becouse as i know it the AUX-IN is working becouse its originaly for weksler, probably you need a resistor for 2 pins that radio or head unit has information that something is conected on the aux -in.

Unless you makeing a controls, for controling ipod trough a steering wheels keys.

Does somebody know if i replace originaly head unit with new,how can i resolve problem with steering wheel keys, that i can control a new head unit with this keys?
    Please help me

I seem to remember some difference between stock head units, some of them accepting an AUX input, and all of them accepting SPDIF for a CD changer. I honestly don't know which head units have AUX inputs, but I think mine doesn't. Here people are explaining how to fake a CD changer to activate the SPDIF input, and more recently also how to makde SPDIF from an analog line source.
If you have an AUX input you don't have to worry, but you won't have steering wheel controls like next/prev enabled with AUX (which we should get via the CD changer interface)

    Hello Guys.

    Congratulations on all your development!
But to make the things right and to spice up this project here is an idea: What about to add an USB to the adapter you are building? In this way, you could connect any MP3 player and use the stearing wheel comands to control the playback.
Furthermore, you could recharge the player via USB.

    Hello Marcob,
Look in this post, I'm afraid that for your type of radio things are no so simple .
So is that all (enable aux-in and conect cable to blue conector)?
=> This is not the case, the Blue Connector is used for the CD changer and can only be enabled with a serial interface by means of a microprocessor solution or serial port from a PC. And the audio input is SPDIF so you will need a SPDIF converter as well. Look further in this thread and you'll see that there are other people working on a solution for your problem.

    Regards,
    Putput

TNX i see it now whats the problem,i got tuner list and this head unit doesnt have AUX -IN.
And from what i read,i see that this interface is in progres and its not finished for amater users like me.

Does any body hav the interface for tuner list thats work?
Why do i need this interface, that the radio thinks that have cd changer connected on blue conector?

Maybee im interesed for car pc,but i see that there is no interface to control trough steering wheel controls, too,so maybe is best to buy new carradio.

But if i had a update list or cd radio younger than 2002,than i can normaly enable aux in ant i need just a cable to connect an outside mp3 player?
