Hello, Sorry to go slightly of subject, I've recently purchase the update list CD player to replace my tuner list, however the display and stalk controls don't work. Does anyone know why this is and is there a work around to resolve this. I have a 2002 Megane and the update list CD player came out of a 2004 Megane. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, that's smart...

I guess you could also have cut the ribbon cable and put an A/B switch or relay to be able to keep standard CD functionality at will, or are there components between the ribbon cable and the chip ?
I guess a similar trick could be used on other models as well...

No idea. Maybe you should turn to Renault specific forums where car dealers and experts hang around. For French-speaking forums, I'd suggest http://www.planeterenault.com

i'm surely not in the correct topic but plz show some mercy on me.. i'm goin dizzy trying to cope up with all that data i read here...
part I:i need to alter the wiring of the philips hu in my laguna (phase I, face lift) so that i can install a tuner list from a clio. the thing is that philips hu as i'm sure you may know haw a long conector with 7 (?) pins whereas the clio haw a rectangular one. trying to make the connections work and combinning cables didn't give out much, i only managed to make the remote on the steering wheel work but never had any luck with the on dash screen.
part II: i would also like to know how to "fool" my hu so that i can have an aux in for my pda to play through the car speakers.
i'm really looking forward to hearing from you..

Hello, First of all BRAVO, this thread is fantastic.
I'm interrested by the cdc emulator based on a PIC microcontroler, (I just want to add an Aux Input to my Tuner list Unit). Could you just resum me at wich stage you are today. If i understand the hardware is done but the sofware is bugged. I'm electronician and driver of scenic car so may be i can help you, let me know if i'm right and what can i do?
I think first i need to do the hardware, did you know how can i do easly the PCB because it's dual side!

Pic PCB did not works
Hi ALE and all!

So I tried to change this bug by changing in "Config memory" (winpic programmer) current item. after that I reprogrammed PIC and no bugs were found. So I connect PCB to HU but nothing was happened. No other item in Source. I think that is problem in wrong programmed PIC isn`t it?
I have Renault megane 98 with original Philips Radiosat 6010 (22DC459/62L) with 10 pin ISO conector for CD changer.
In this thread I found difference between DB+/DB- signals and standard BUS protocol. Could be problem here?
So maybe I find other problem. I have not grounded signal BUS for DB+/DB-. I will try to correct it and post result.
Thanx a lot! Supertronik

Analog audio input?
I've been looking around interent for projects like this, and this seems to be as close as I get.
My goal would be to connect a Sony Ericsson phone to be used as MP3 player and to work with handsfree.
I want the sound to automatically go throu the car radio whenever there is a sound coming out from the phone, and I want the volume controll of the car radio to be used.
I looked for schematics drawings of the car radio and I thought I had most of it figured out, until I realized I was looking at the wrong model... The radio I thought I had used TDA7318 audio chip which is a digital sound process with analog audio but uses digital controls. It has a input selector and after that an output and input (for external pre amp / eq, etc) and then volume etc and amplifier. This would be very easy to just use the "EQ throu" and just override the signal before volume controll etc...
However, I realized the radio I actually have is a 22DC279/62F (Philips Renault Tuner List) wich uses SAA708H Audio processor, which is a fully digital processor, which makes things harder.
Anyway, maybe it will work out anyway. On the chip there is a CD input and a Tape input that is not used (internal CD uses PDIF). There is also a Phone input, but only mono.
The CD input could be used for this. My "only" problem is that I'm not the very best when it comes to microprocessor programming, which makes things a bit complicated nowadays when everything is digital...
So what I need is a PIC (or similar) that has just one input. When the input is 1 the car radio will swith to CD input (and preferrably show AUX in display), and when the input is 0 the car radio will go back to where it was before.
I could use the "connects2 box", but as far as I understand I will then have to change source to "CD-Changer" whenever someone calls... I want it to automatically over ride all inputs so I don't have to press anything.
The analogue design is no problem at all for me, and I will post it here if I design it. But first I need the digital part figured out...
Can someone help me, please?
(I can send you data sheet for SA7708 if needed, I can't attach it due to file size limitations in this forum)
Thanks for a very good forum!

Newby renault / radiosat question?
Do you top minds out there know if I can hack the basic (brand new radiosat update list) HU unit in my Grand Scenic so I can play MP3 CDs. You know a bit like changing your single region DVD player to multiregion via pressing a few buttons in the correct order. I can't believe the technology isn't already in it???? It does however have an auxiliary input, but I don't want to spend out if I don't have to! Any advice greatly recieved
cheers in advance Soundbored...
