99uero is reasonable as long as it does what it say and does it well.

Forget intergration, how often would u actually use the radio?? I'm missing something here. Someone wanna explain??
LOL. The answer is simple: This thing is cool. Think about it, if you use a HU you must have a method of switching between the radio and the car player. Granted, you can use a switch, but doing it in software is so much nicer. You can record radio to your computer. RDBS data. You don't have to reach for a HU that you had to stow someplace to turn the dials. And of course integration -- but you decided to forget about that.

How often? Probably almost everyday. There are radio shows that I enjoy, weather alerts, getting exposed to new music, and NPR.

So there is my explaination. Booya.

Edit: Oh yeah, and you will know you will be getting good reception with this module as well.

I think 99 € is too expensive. I can´t buy it in this price.

price is good for me as well. My aim is a complete and fully integrated system, so I don't mind paying $120 for such a device.

€99 is probably worth it, but I will have a slight problem convincing the wife...

Anyway, any details of what we can connect on the optional header? (a pinout diagram if you like) I need to start building my 4 channel balanced line driver to go with this excellent unit (using the TI DRV134 IC's)

Hopfully we might be able to aquire a HQCT unit this month?..

I wouldn't mind paying upto $120 either. But being that i'm in New Zealand, the exchange rate isn't in my favour. Like i said ealier its ~$200 without freight. and freight is usually the killer.

I too want a fully integrated solution. I just hope it can be better mass-produced to bring down the cost. I don't know what mp3car.com has up their sleeve. I think that they should take a serious look at helping developing this further.

The thing that bother me if the farka connector.
I had cut the one present on my BMW because all the cables you will find are with the old connectors.
Today every HU comes with the old connector, so why choosing this one? Is it more convenient to solder it on board?
Have you some adapter ready to ship with the board or a link to an online reseller?
    Thanks!

basically it was avaiblilty of solderable connectors, price, and footprint on the board.

i cannot find, for the life of me, a fakra to motorola connector on the internet.

i hope one is provided. i will be using an antenna with a fakra connector anyway, but i may have to use the older motorola style in the mean time.
