    Hi,

thanks a lot. I think interference and signal quality is my problem, but I didn´t know what to do, because I tested everything.

    1. Antennacable = original BMW fakra to the modul
    2. Modul in a metalbox
    3. Modul away from the pc

Maybe, someone could help me with an idea for a good signal.

Am I the only one to think there's waaaaaay to much bass !?
Even though Treble is up on max, bass and loudness on min, it's about 2-3 times as much as I have when playing mp3's or cd's.

That is more then likely due to the radio broadcast, they like to pump up the low end.

Try using a different antenna. The BMW antenna is the shark fin on the roof, isn't it? From my experience, I got a 15% - 30% improvement on signal when using my UHF CB antenna (whilst just holding an unsoldered wire end) compared to using the factory antenna (properly soldered connectors)

    Hi,

no it isn´t a shark fin in the roof. The antenna is in the window.

Yes the antenna is supposed to be good on BMW.So did you try with long cables and with the module in front of the car?

My Jeep antenna is also in the window, and its pickup was impeccible with the factory head unit and the Pioneer that I put in before switching to a carpc. Maybe the HQCT is still not as good as a HU, or maybe it just doesn't work well with window mount aerials.

I had the same thing before. then I used the same cable as the HU, and the same location for the module (The module itself may receive directly signal from the base antenna connector). If you try that, you will be able to test reception in the same conditions.
Putting the module in the trunk or in front of the car changed my reception like night and day.
Now it is close to reception of my HU. To be honest, it is not as good as it was but it is now in the same league.

    Hello,

I have a look at it. The most problem will be the cable for the sound and antenna. I need a cable from BMW (i think ISO) to fakra (module). Is this correct? Can you give me a link for an adapter?

By a bit, yes, but not this much.
I'm having similar issues as cdrskull:

But if I lower the volume to "1F" i'm free of distortion, but bass level is very high even though I try to lower everything.

I'll see if it makes any differance using line_in instead of mic, but it shouldn't.

Bass levels are not this high using the stock radio in the car.
