This sounds like a software issue. Software is still in development on many levels (RR, CF, Luc's software). Also, if you keep getting the problem, try to fiddle with the power saving settings of your mainboard's internal USB-hubs in device manager, it might be Windows loosing grip after hibernation...

Hi.

It just flickers, the text is ok.

I will test the power saving option. Is it better to connect the unit to the USB port on the computer directly and not through a hub?

Is there restrictions regarding length of coax between SMB and connection to original antenna cable? If it's to short (~30cm) can that be a problem (reflection in cable and so on)? I have some problems finding stations that are close to 100MHz and the reception of the strongest transmitter in my area is by far the worst and it's 99.4MHz, but the stations around 105MHz is very good but they use 1/10 of the transmitter power that the one at 99.4MHz

Many strange problems here but I'm confident we can make it work. Could it be a faulty HQCT unit?

Hello,

i am from Germany and i have bought one of this HQCT Modules. After testing and trying on my Car PC and on my Desktop PC i always had bad reception and detection Problems. After Hibernating no HID Device anymore. I have tested 4 different Antennas with or without amplifer. No god reception.

So i decided to send the HQCT back to Xtronic.
But now they dont do anything.
No back payment, No new HQCT, No reply to my E-Mails.
130 Euro for nothing thank you Xtronic :-(

Same problem here, and when I start the car w/ carputer on and radio playing, the radio dies and I have to reboot to get it to work again. My carputer runs directly from my bat. The seek funktion does not work at all, only presets.
Byt I'm not returning the module, I will get this to work, some day

We're very sorry, but we've received no emails, just the package with a letter.
What e-mail address did you send you mails to?

I've tested the module and it works fine. I have sent it back to Datalex to test it again and to let them repair the smb-plug you soldered directly to.

Once I get the results from them you will be refunded (as you specifically asked not to receive a new unit in the letter) minus the price for shipping and repairs.

Have you tested with the latest version of the software on our website for the search function?

The hibernation issues are mostly with the on-board USB-hub of the mainboard. Can you try to play with the power options of it (in device manager)?

Yes I have the latest sw.
I run the module via USB-hub (2 ports, USB 1.1) could that be the problem?

Now i have an reply thats nice.

I have now Build my own Radio from two old Blaupunkt Car-Radios. In the german car-pc.info forum are some infos about that.
With this self soldered Radio i have no reception Problems. Controlling via Serial Port. And RDS and so all works fine. (With the same antenna)

So i dont need a new HQCT!

How much money can i await?

Xtronic tested your module and found it OK, so they brought it here, i have had it on test here, and it is playing right now...

THE MODULE WORKS PERFECT

Judging from the solder on the antenna connector it looks like you soldered your antenna lead to it, how did you connect the 'hot' wire to the inside of the connector? Your antenna must be connected properly to get any reception, connecting the 'hot' wire to the shielding is NO GOOD.

First i have tryed to solder the antenna to the smb connector. But it dont work with the inside. I can not solder it, no space. Then i have soldered the shielding to the outer pins of the backside of the device (where the smb plug come down trough the board).
Then the hotwire of the antenna cabel to the middle ob the smb plug also on the down side.

So that must be work, but i dont have reception.

I also make an distance of 1meter betwen pc and radio unit but no beter reception. :-(

I have also Problems with the Unit that it dont wont respond after 10 oder 15 minutes. I hear Musik but i cant change the Station. ???
