i'm actually thinking about trying both. See, when i was researching micro
displays, such as those found in projection TVs, i found that the resolution is really low by computer standards, but the picture came out great on the TV. I'm wondering if, using the NM LCD, i can increase the size of the screen without buying a larger LCD with more res that we actually need. I mean, all in all, even when we do get ti working, the most resolution hogging thing i will need it for is a divx movie. Why watch it at a ~1:1 reflected scale with the LCD when you can do 3-5:1 with a magnified reflection. Ofcourse with magnification, light intesity is sacrificed, so yes, we'd have to technically project it using, hopefully usinjg LEDs. But even if its an extra few steps, it will make the HUD far more daylight visible than what i used to get and therefore end the restriction to night time use as solely a nightvision device.
Yev's link, and i'll edit it in later, used a TV wiht a 2.5" lcd with pretty decent results for <$60 worth of work and
supplies (not sure if that included the old TV). LEDs are cheap and well...yeah. After that's done, then its back to the old double image problem, then getting a few visual settings done right, comptuer wise, and then we're golden.
And i get you on having other projects, i'm working wiht AIVMS and Media Portal. Both have PPC remote controls built in. Hopelly sama and lost will make some headway in the computer vision stuff when they regain focus on that. I have a few ideas, but we can only handle like, i dunno, 10 projects at a time, i mean geez, we're not superman

. What are you working on, out of curiousity?
