BTW, for projection system we might have to go with smaller LCD than 2.5 to conpensate of space of the device.
the crappiest part for me is i got overengineedred DUB, to take something out it's a hussle, cause they don't what you to perfect THEIR ENGINEERING, it took me few days to run a speaker wire thorugh the door bridge cas they had 2 plastic, and 1 rubber wall in between.
so everytime i think of projection system i get a headache

or quantum...??? Okay, fine...the professor has spoken. This thread will never be done.
Yev, haha, funny you should say that, Mark and i were going to see what we could do with that for paintball gear. Microdisplays are what you need, so check out those visor displays and stuff. They sell on ebayfor cheap ($80ish+). Too rich for my blood in my situation, but if you rip em apart, you have what you need in terms of parts and electrical equipment. That reminds me, i have stuff to send back to you soon...
Anyways, i know how long winded this thread is getting, poor alti, had his thread royally jacked, although jacked by the same crowd who jacked the nightvision thread, so maybe we can have a new thread based on results and keep this as a discussion thread, as we did wiht the nitemax, i mean, "night vision in car" thread?

For using the screen on a bike helmet the best idea is reflection as i already did the work for a guy on these boards.
What i did was use LED's as the light source but also used the sun aswell
I had a opaque cover on the arm that bent around from the side of the helmet to project the image
This let in the light to make the screen visible in the daylight and the led's provided the light in the shade.
It works very well and was low powered altho as i've said before this was based on a PDA
The use of sunlight and LED's would overcome the visibilty issue easily![]()

Just chiming in, I haven't given up by any means, just been too busy with work stuff and some health issues.
Plus I've always been the type to swap projects around. I'll make a lot of progress on something, then swap to another languishing project. Maybe that's why everything takes so damn long.
Like my front-end. Wrote most of it in a couple days, and I haven't been able to touch it since.
lol how is that front end and diagnostics software coming?

Not at all at the moment. Don't know if I mentioned it or not, but someone finally cracked the ECU for my car. I need to pick up the cable and figure out the protocol. On the plus side, instead of the 10-15 samples per second over OBDII, I'll be able to get over 250 a second and more data to boot.
Oh yeah, you can also reprogram the car![]()
