any expereince with "pop up style" monitors? the mechanical aspect?

i am considering designing a "tray" that could hold a 7"-10" monitor and would raise outta my dash. i think the dimensions are there, and think i could do this farily easy, but my question is are there plans or anything i could buy to act as a motorized unit that would raise and lower the screen? i am not sure if this is the correct forum room, but any info would be great. thanks a lot.
