Ultimate control over interior lighting
There are a few ideas and link to exactly what you would need.
I was thinking about making networked rgb-led controllers. What I was originally thinking was using a small avr (tiny11/12/13 or something like that) to control 1-3 leds (when multiple, in parallel, same color on all). Creating more of these and networking them with some sort of simple network. RS-232 or something. And then control them all from a PC.
If you don't understand what I'm talking about, imagine christmaslights, where each light can be any RGB color, individually controllable, from a computer.
Any hints or tips?
Currently missing ATX DCDC power & LCD stuff =)
I just started working on something like this for my room
I use RGB 1 W LED (Kathode is common) and will use an driver + interface for each LED connected with only 3 wires (+ / GND / I2C or MBus). This way I will only use 3 wires in all my home and each RGB LED interface will have its own ID so I can control the LED's individualy...
P.S. I do this with help from a good friend with electronic knowledge higher than mine.
I had thought about doing this. There are a lot of fun potentials for this project.
