I would never put any sort of silly radioshark looking thing in my car... just me though

ok well I seem to be getting the same questions.. first of all I would never purchase a radio shark unit. when the usb am fm unit was announced it didn't come out until months after the pre order stage.. I believe it was 6 months.. next there are no ibus codes to crack.. we have all the ibus information to send and I know all the cosed to read. I just don't have the time to research and program into a standalone software. I am going to post a zip file here with everything u need to test operate the dice unit. I am still on vacation but when I get back iwill post the ini files for ibuscomm. the ibus analyzer with the simulated buttons needed to control and view the test coming from the dice unit. I can see the actual raw dat with station info and rds info. all we need is for someone to figure out how to make a simple to use program that will take the already made control software. I willpachage everything foreveryone when I get home sunday.. please pardon the spelling as I am on my phone![]()

Something interesting.. i booted up the HD Radio unit and i noticed that in Hyperterminal i can see the actual RDS and Station Text. this looks just like the XM radio data.
I can see the ascii data as well. If we could figure out how to send HEX strings directly to the com port we could leiminate the ibusrr software and start on the standalone software.
Since we can see the station id in hyperterminal we should be able to import the rds strings..
i have the files packaged up for those of you who have the hardware ill post it up in a bit..

I wish i knew how to do fiberglass work...
Put me down for another $25 right now. I want to see this happen, so I'll put in however more is required. The Reslers Ibus interface and Dice HD unit are ready to go.

We have now identified the Hex address for Radio Feedback!
1st address: Stadion Frequency
2nd Address: RDS data up to 16 characters with scrolling!!!
MitchJS Has jumped into the ring to help us out!! We might get the Standalone program afterall!!!!!

Kamakazie, I started to write a standalone application to control the radio in a BMW, which interfaces with RR also, for the dice unit. I am done with the software part all I need is the hardware and am unable to buy it right now since I am strapped for cash for this month. Would it be possible for you to either PM me or post a file with the data captured from the DICE unit via hyperterminal so that I could simulate stuff and finish the software.
Attached is a screenshot. Nothing fancy at the moment, I am concentrating more on functionality than on the GUI. But do plan to make this skinnable eventually.

I am one of the software guys who works for iBiquity Digital, the company behind HD radio. I was involved in developing some of these protocols you are all trying to reverse engineer. Unfortunately I can't give you guidance, but I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with.
fyi: for anyone curious about the actual HD radio spec, here it is:
NRSC-5 (HD Radio) Specification
Well through an insane networking connection Mitch has a program working. I am using it now
Right now we are coding the RDS data and the Station id information..
