Building complete... of course i cant get the ftdi unit to show up as anything under com4... otherwise ibuscomm wount work..

Is there any test software out there that i can use to send the strings to the ibus com port?

I wanted to find that BMW Ibus radio test software but i cannot find it. what data needs to be sent to the com port. do i send the actual command strings echoed to the com port?

Im no porgrammer so im gonna need some help from the experts out there. I finally got the com port set to 4 so ibusrr should find it now.

yeah you can use

WinIBus or IBusAnaluser

Plug in the ibus interface to your PC

Then send ibus commands, they will go out the PC Tx line and appear on the PC Rx line

On the ibus yahoo forums they had a software that had all the buttons of the radio. I cannot find that anywhere.. does anyone wher ei can find that?

that's the old ibus analyser that I told you about in pm. I can get it for you when I get my pc out of storage again, but lots of searching will also reveal it, I'm sure!

Finally got the software. I have it all wired up.. now all i need to do is figure out the init commands to send to the unit and hopefully i can get a response.
