i think it has something to do with the new chipsets can actually handle the lesser signal of s/pdif as well as still handling aes. I have been researching this a bit now :-)

that would take up a lot of space, regardless of the $$$$. plus, from what i've been reading the s/pdif will do just fine

yeah... diving in... lets hope I don't regret this (otherwize its all your fault) lol just kidding.
My theory is I was planning on getting that exact model for my diy home stereo (my next project anyway... so why not go for this, worst comes to worst I'll just use it for that, and sell the PS, lol
But don't worry, that dosn't mean I'm going into this on the negative at all. I really want this to work out...
