Durwood, so basically, the app you're referring to, we would just select the programs (in this case..console + plugins and whatever frontend I'm running) that you want to "halt" or "pause" when we go into hibernate then when you de-hibernate/startup, the script would basically "un-pause" the programs? Does it prevent the programs from being shutdown wit hhibernation? Is this how it works or am I in lala land?

Machinehead, I don't see why you're having that problem.

I don't see why I'm having that problem either, trust me it's annoying. Cold boots take over a minute on my system while hibernate takes less than 30 seconds. I'm working to optimize my system to speed up cold boots.

The app Durwood is referring to allows you to run scripts or programs going into and coming out of hibernation. The function I used to use it for was disabling and re-enabling USB devices with Devcon.

I use a 1010lt and have no problems coming out of hibernation but I use vsthost instead of console. I still have to put a couple commands into the ExecTBL in RR, something like close winamp on suspend and then sendkey to restart vsthost engine and then open winamp on resume. Works great however RR doesn't send the commands until I touch the screen (aka: move the mouse).

    Also,

what are the easiest steps to take to have an output to a 4 channel amplifier, and a output to a mono subwoofer amplifier?

It should work although you may run into some issues with shuddering during high cpu loads. The celeron processor of the d201 is the limiting factor.

The output to the amplifiers is done through console completely.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread... but I'm having some trouble with a 1010LT-based install.

This CarPC was running XP and CF2.1, with Console and some plugins. It was the source unit for a 4-way all-active audio system.

It had an amazing amount of RAM installed which XP couldn't use. It was basically running a external optical drive, a USB thumb drive, the locally stored library of music, a Griffin Powermate, and a GPS USB receiver.

The current (2nd) owner wants to use this Car PC as the source unit in a pretty nice car audio system, and use an almost identical 4-way active architecture. Among the upgrades/changes are:

    - Upgrade the 30Gb SSD to 256GB SSD (we still have the original 30Gb drive on hand and unmodified)

    - Install Windows 7 (boot times are faster now)

    - Install the latest version of CF (done)

So I've installed the 1.6b version of Console (same as was running under XP before), and I've downloaded the plugins used before.

I've installed the M-Audio 1010LT Control Panel software.

I'm not using Winamp (my understanding is that CF will serve as the media player?) I currently have 1010LT Multichannel selected under CF advanced audio settings. Selecting 1010LT SPDIF in CFgets me no audio at all.

I've downloaded VAC (although it looks like that was a mistake, since the 1010LT can apparently do the routing on its own).

We copied the console routing file from the old hard drive and pasted it onto the new hard drive. It opens and looks right, but I suspect I am not doing the right setup tasks.

    Issues at present:

    1) I am getting audio out of the 1010LT ONLY on Channels 1/2, just as the OP warns about. Since 7 has different Sound management panes than XP, I'm not CERTAIN I have these right.

    2) Even when I've opened the file from the original install in Console, the one with the 4-way routing and the EQ/xover/TA plugins, I still seem to be getting full-range audio out of 1/2.

    3) The Powermate and CF don't seem to like each other. The PM changes the Volume setting displayed, but not the effective volume setting. I can change the audible volume setting using the CF up/down arrows, but doing so does not affect the displayed volume setting.

    4) This morning I can't get the M-Audio Control Panel to display. I got it to display last night and I wanted to double-check my settings this morning as I made this post. I can click on the icon and I see it in my Taskbar, but I can't get it to appear, neither with Alt-Tab nor with the mouse. I've restarted with no effect.

I know that durwood has expressed doubts about the move to 7. I know that one benefit from the move to 7 is that the sound quality of the volume control is not an issue (it has no zipper noise and sounds great).

I am getting ready to fall back to the 30Gb drive and XP and make that work, if I can.

    • Anyone make the 1010LT work under 7?
    • Anyone make the 1010LT work under CF 3.x?
    • Anyone make this whole deal work?

    Thanks in advance,

    Ken

i don't have a 1010lt, and haven't used console in a couple of years(i am a audiomulch convert), but being that no one else is responding...

for the windows 1+2 ch sound-- you can select the audio device by right clicking on the speaker icon, and selecting "playback devices" in theory, you should now be able to select the spdif output..

for the m-audio control panel, you might need to reinstall it to get it to work.

Thanks. Reinstalling doesn't work, but you can force it to appear using regedit as called out in this thread I found on the m-audio support forum:

    http://forums.m-audio.com/showthread...nel-won-t-show

Looks to be a glitch with 7 maybe? At any rate, that fixed the CP.
