AudioMulch with ASIO drivers and you should be good to go!
I haven't configured mine to use a 5.1 input signal (digital?), so I'm afraid I can't help you there...
I just use stereo L/R input for Front L/R, Rear L/R, 1 sub and a pair of VU meters.
So I'm wanting to take a 7.1 sound card to get 8 channels out and configure it thru software as such:
Output 1: Front L/R
Output 2: Rear L/R
Output 3: Subs (pair)
Output 4: Center (one center)
I haven't purchased the sound card yet. Is there a card and software program that will allow me to control my output signals independently and essentially provide a 5.1 sounding environment from a DVD on a 7.1 card? Basically, I have a pair of subs that I would like to provide signals independently and have a 5.1 surround sound field. I'd rather not split the output to my sub amp... Possible?![]()

what is a vu meter? and why do you need one?
What is VU-Meter? LINK
vu meters would be used to verify that you have a good signal level in the software, esp when your speakers aren't working, or you have the wrong outputs hooked up in the software.
Wungun has used audio mulch for a while, so he is just as biased as i am when i say to try out Console, asio4all, and Virtual audio cable.
just as a note, i have not been very successful with cards with asio drivers built in, although it could just be me... asio4all would allow you to use wdm drivers in a program like console, or audio mulch.
although i have not tried surround sound, so i can't help you very much there either-- though if you are interested in stereo upmixing, try spatmixer--i have not tried it, but should allow you to upmix a 2 channel source to 7.1(google says up to 12 channels output).
also why are you interested in stereo subs, and surround sound? it would be easier, to have a mono sub output, you will experience louder(and possibly lower extension) output when both subs are working in together.
Is there a way to assign hotkeys or use girder to control levels in either audiomulch or console...
I've got an m-audio fw 410 , and I've tried everything to send commands to it's mixer, with no avail....
What I'm trying to do is be able to control the output levels to each channel via RR.
I'm wondering if I switch to asio plugins and a console, will I be able to acomplish this...
Thx, and sorry if this is sidetracking OP...
I have a audiotrak maya 7 with 4 sets of stereo rca output and the hardest bit about it was setting up console.
