Thread: Audiomulch and plugins

i haven't looked at my setup for a while so this is kind of like the blind leading the blind, but you added them to the 'vst plugins' folder inside the audiomulch program folder right?

i seem to remember that they were under a different section-- when you open up the screen to add plugins, they were in the 'VST Plugins folder', and not just listed with all of the other plugins (ie. for a karmafx plugin, instead of just looking in the "k's", it would be under another 'VST plugins' folder, and then 'karmafx' )...

EDIT i booted up the carputer because my curiousity got the best of me: it is exactly as i was thinking. all of my plugins that i added are in the patch bay area under 'VST Plugins' though i haven't added any in a while, i though that audiomulch searched the directories for new plugins on startup, instead of requiring you to manually run a update to get them available(this is the way that Console works)

one of the things i liked to do is to put each plugin in its own folder to keep it more divided, though it might not actually help your issue..

it is cold and miserable in the central US here, so the carputer is kind of packed up for the winter(i took it out to do a motherboard swap, and it never made it back in yet..), but if your still having trouble in a couple of days, i should have some time to boot it up and check it..

otherwise, it might be that you are only using a trial version--though, i thought the limitation was that you couldn't save or load projects...

yeah, its under the vst plugin folder in audiomulch and I even made sure in the settings that the correct folder was selected for the plugins and I still dont see them, I dont even see them as another section under the "patcher"

I just opened it just now and I changed nothing and all of a sudden I see the "VST Plugins" section but I only see convolver VST and I cant drag and drop like I am supposed to, nothing happens when I drag it over. And well there are Many more plugins I added besides that one so I dont know why that is the only one the program is showing. Not sure if its because of the trial period, but from their website it says its "fully functional"

so you didnt do anything special other than just putting them in that folder and it was viewable? Thats exactly what I did with no luck

ok, i just checked again, by downloading a new vst plugin(in case you want to replicate it, i used 'Aftershock Delay'). all i did was drop 'aftershockdelay.dll' into the vsthost folder(to make sure that you do not really need to have each effect in its own folder), and it showed up as soon as i loaded audiomulch, and allowed me to drag and drop it right onto the setup screen

the only thing that i can think is that the plugins that you are using might not be fully compatible with audiomulch. or that the plugins might not be 64bit compatible(there is a search feature on kvraudio that allows you only to see 64 bit plugins that really makes me question this..), though i really hope that this is not the case-- i really like a lot of the plugins that i use on my 32bit system, and starting from scratch again on 64bit would take a while...)

try going to www.kvraudio.com, and search for some vst plugins, and try downloading a couple of free ones(maybe both 32, and 64 bit).

i know i have occaionally had issues with different plugins, but it is usually resolved by finding another plugin that does the same thing, but that doesn't seem to be the case because you have way more than just 2-3 plugins that aren't working...

just for referance, i am using xp 32bit, and audiomulch 2.0.2 aug 2009 build.

if you are still having problems, then the audiomulch forum might be a better place to ask for answers(i would normally recommend to search their forums, but it appears that they don't have a search feature...)-- what i have posted is about as much as i know(or have had to learn so far) on audiomulch, so i am quickly running out of ideas and suggestions...

Ok, yeah I think thats what it was, all the different plugins I had apparently werent able to work with the latest version of audiomulch or because its 64-bit, either way I found a couple others that will work but there isnt much explaination on which ones will work and which ones wont. Hopefully I can find some plugins that will do what I need (phase, time delay, crossover, etc...)

Alright well I got the plugins and all to work, I just installed the computer in the car and was testing out multiple channels through it, but for some reason I cant get the 8 channels to ouput seperately through audiomulch.

I setup VAC and audiomulch for directsound with input being VAC and output being the Asus xonar D2x. I configured windows sound so that the asus card would be 7.1 and not just stereo. But on all channels (soundout, auxout1-3) it just outputs to the same physical port on the sound card. Is there anything else I am supposed to do as far as configuing? On all the AUX outputs they are setup as channels 3-8. I tried ASIO but I dont know how to configure in Audiomulch for VAC input and the asus sound card as ouput.

If anyone can help please let me know, thanks!

for asio, you would need asio4all to allow it to work-- i haven't messed with a4a in a while, but once you load it, it should be able to detect your sound card as a output, and vac as a input, and should load the correct setup. then in audiomulch, you just need to select asio, and it should show a bunch of inputs and all of the outputs-- and then just connect everything up.

but it is wierd that it all outputs to the same physical port on the card-- on my setup, i did away with a4a because audiomulch allowed me to select each individual pair of outputs...

nm, i got it, there was another control panel (asus's) that wasnt configured right. now i just got this annoying crackling sound to troubleshoot. If I close and reopen Audiomulch the crackling goes away for a few minutes and then comes back, wonder what it could be.
