Question Looking for advice on E-MU 1212M PCI...

    Product link

I'm trying to find a means of doing a fully active system w/digital crossover, and I need a minimum of of 11 analog outputs. Since I'm a n00b at this, I'm struggling with finding information on how to do this. If I could find something with even more "assignable" or internally routable outputs, that would be great. PCI is preferrable, for my chosen mobo.

I'm appealing to the PC Audio gurus to educate me, here!

It appears from the link that the card in question only has two analog outputs, the rest of the outputs are all digital (S/PDIF and ADAT).

The M-Audio Delta 1010LT has 10 analog outputs, one shy of the 11 that you need. Can you get by with 10?

Ack! That's what I get from going from memory. The 1010LT only has 8 analog outputs. The other 2 are digital. So never mind.

Unfortunetly, no. Here's the setup: 5.1 system with 3-way L/R, 2-way center, L/R rear fill (will use passives on these), and LFE channel. Add 'em all up, and that's 11 separate channels.

    No prob.!

This'll learn me for not getting into electronics design back in HS, like I had planned. I think what I'm after is "vaporware", and would have to be custom built/programmed.

I may simply resort to doing it with an off-board crossover network. It would just be so much simpler and cleaner to do it all in the PC. Anybody have a Premier CD-1000 they want to part with??

EMU is great, but look for an older 1820, that will solve your problems. You need a PCI slot on your board though.
