RJ45 loopback problem... sooooo close
My HP Mini is alllllmost working like I need it to. Last step (well, prior to wiring in Carnetix) is to get Wake from anything (LAN, Link, USB) working.
After some playing with Wake on Link in Windows 7 I found I had to update the ethernet card's drivers. Now it wakes up no problem from hibernate/standby as long as the AC adaptor is plugged in.
The problem is that this simply won't work in an auto environment. As soon as the ignition is turned off the power is cut to the laptop. At this point the only way to wake it up is to use the power button.
Anyone managed to get Windows to keep the ethernet port powered in hibernation?
