You may try to open the thing up and check the board for vcc or +12 markings.
I'm not trying to insult you, but double check and make sure you wired it up correctly. I've done it more than once with electronics.
Hi, I recently tried to hard wire on a bench 12v power supply my WD TV. The original AC adapter states 12v 1a output. So I checked connectivity and found the center conductor is the 12v and ground is the outer conductor. When I wired this up correctly (or so I thought) The whole WD tv box smoked and it now toast.. what did I do wrong? And is there a better way to find out which wire is the 12v and ground?
Thanks
-Roger
