Wow I just stumbled on this. I know it's old and everyone already said it, but I don't think you'd mind someone else saying, Great Job! I will definitely try this when I get my Mac Mini.

You can always use killer app launcher, and put safari in your dashboard. The dashboard icon is on every screen in ICE3

Thanks, and yes, a web browser is on the drawing board. However it will most likely be very basic.

Then there is the problem of getting back to ICE3. I was using a program called Dock-it that lets you make your own dock. I had just spaces on it and had it set to stay on top of eveything. I assigned everything to a space so i could just tap that and get to whatever I wanted and then back again. I am now using rapidostart, however the little green circle to activate it is so small, I wish there was a way to make it bigger.

I was thinking that there should be some sort of indication that the player is in shuffle mode. There seems to be two different shuffles, I'm not sure what the difference between them is but you always have to guess whether or not you are in shuffle or not.

Also, it seems to me that when in coverflow there should be controls, such as play/pause and skip tracks forward/back. That way when you are on the album you want to listen to you can hit play and it will start to play that album, instead of clicking the album and them being taken to the track list and then having to play it. I do still like that you can click the cover and it takes you to the track list, I just think a play button would be nice so I can just start playing the album right from there.

One last thing, it would be nice if when a track is selected in the list view you could push play and it would play instead of having to push the arrow on the right side of the screen to play the track. This isn't a huge deal, it would just be more intuitive I think.

I'm not sure if you have looked at mozilla fennec, but it would probably be a great starting point for an integrated browser.

I know exactly what you mean. When I get a bit of spare time, I want to write a basic version of rapidostart that will be larger (touchscreen friendly).
Maybe this could be a fun little project for someone on this forum who is trying to learn cocoa?

That is what the "Backlight" option in the "General" preferences are for. The backlight will show the user which state Shuffle, Attenuate and Pause are in. I suggest sticking with the default theme for a while to learn how it works before changing to a theme which does not have transparent buttons.
Yes, there are two different shuffles. Coverflow and Artist List are using the same player, while Playlist is completely separate.

Also, it seems to me that when in coverflow there should be controls, such as play/pause and skip tracks forward/back. I think the solution is to separate the Play/Pause button into two buttons (Pause = Pause, Play = Play). This way the Play button can control whatever is highlighted (cover, artist, playlist).
Thanks for the feedback. I will make the changes.

    Thanks, I'll have a look,.

I would love to learn cocoa, but every time I try to mess with it I get overwhelmed and give up. I don't have much experience with programming, but I would love to learn. Does any one know of a good how-to or tutorial?
