First of all, a great effort, guys. It's really looking good! What we need now are some themes!

I had a crash with ICE3 I'll report here. I'd forgotten to set the movie path and tried to run a movie while music was playing. I got the beach ball for a minute and then just blank movie list. Realizing I forgot to set the path, I went to the settings menu and selected the path, then hit okay.

Thats weird. I just tried doing the same, and all I get is a blank movie list with only the play/pause button working. No beach ball, no crash.

I will look into it.

I have noticed over the last couple of days that when coming back from sleep, ICE3 sometimes will not play anything. It acts like a song is playing, but there is no sound; not even the 'pop' sound from the buttons. After quitting and opening ICE3 again, it will work fine.

Another problem I have noticed may or may not be a bug. When in coverflow, when the currently playing track changes to a track on another album, the artwork shown will not change. If I hit home and then go back to the coverflow, it will automatically display the currently playing artwork. Is there anyway to have it automatically display the artwork of the currently playing artwork.

It would also be nice if there was a 'now playing' type screen. It would be a screen that would show the track's atwork, name, album, number, and time. That same screen would have playback and volume controls. similar to the way CarFrontEnd or NeonBoomBox do it.

One more thing(i promise) that has been a problem for me, is that there is no easy way to control the alert/button noise volume. I currently use the system volume setting to control it, but it limits the volume of my music.

I almost forgot, the automatic dimming sometimes has issues. It doesn't always dim at the right time and if you change a setting, you have to turn automatic dimming off and then back on to make it apply the new setting.

I had a crash with ICE3 I'll report here. I'd forgotten to set the movie path and tried to run a movie while music was playing. I got the beach ball for a minute and then just blank movie list. Realizing I forgot to set the path, I went to the settings menu and selected the path, then hit okay.

I have noticed over the last couple of days that when coming back from sleep, ICE3 sometimes will not play anything. It acts like a song is playing, but there is no sound; not even the 'pop' sound from the buttons. After quitting and opening ICE3 again, it will work fine.

Unfortunately this has been an annoying random bug that has been with us ever since bikerdudepost found it in version 1. Because it is random, we are finding it very hard to track down.

Another problem I have noticed may or may not be a bug. When in coverflow, when the currently playing track changes to a track on another album, the artwork shown will not change. If I hit home and then go back to the coverflow, it will automatically display the currently playing artwork. Is there anyway to have it automatically display the artwork of the currently playing artwork.

This is not a bug. At the time of writing this code, we found it very annoying to be flicking through covers searching for something, when all of a sudden coverflow would jump to the now playing cover when playing the next track. We may sit down and rethink it in the future.

It would also be nice if there was a 'now playing' type screen. It would be a screen that would show the track's atwork, name, album, number, and time. That same screen would have playback and volume controls. similar to the way CarFrontEnd or NeonBoomBox do it.

I personally don't like "Now Playing" screens, however, I could write a "Now Playing" visualizer. The visualizer already has artwork, name, album and playback control, I would only have to publish an input for the time. Would this be acceptable?

This is interesting. I had thought that after using ICE³ for a while, everybody would turn off the button noise and it would no longer be an issue. I will look into adding a button volume control.

Are you still having this problem? It seems to work perfectly for me. When you say it doesn't always dim at the right time, what time does it dim at, and what time did you set it to dim at?

If you manually change the selected cover art, it will wait about 30 sec. before changing to currently playing track. If you don't touch anything it will instantly change and the next/previous buttons will always cause the cover art to change.

Also, when double tapping an album cover in cover art, a new screen comes up that list the tracks on that album and there is no simple way to return to the cover flow section.

What is the reason for having three sections for music? I only use cover flow because it looks the most impressive. Does anyone use all 3 audio sections? or do you only use the one you prefer?

A lot of my suggestions may sound like iTunes, but that's because iTunes works well and seems to meet most peoples needs. I understand if that's not where you want this front end to go, but that's just my 2 cents.

Yes. I have been thinking it through, and there isn't really much code that needs to written. I'll see if I can squeeze it into the next release.

Have you tried the back arrow on the right hand side of the screen?

The hardest part about creating ICE³, was that everyone has a different way of using it. Even the beta testers had differing ideas about everything.
I pretty much only use playlists in the car. However, passengers use EVERYTHING!!

This will most likely happen when we need somewhere OBD, GPS, XM, FM, iPhone etc..

Maybe one day Apple will come to the party with a 7" iPhone, then everyone will be able to use iTunes in the car.

I know it was visited once already, but I still have a question. When you set the playback on wake to "resume", it does in fact resume where it left off after waking from sleep. My problem is that I will more than likely be shutting it down every time, and when you do this it starts playing the first song on the list when you start it back up, instead of where you left off . Is there anyway you could write the data to the disk before shutting off, so when you start ICE3 back up it will know where you last were?
