I can't see any problems with that.
I'm sure we can write the currently playing track to the plist on exit.

I rarely use coverflow because I've got way too much music to flip through while I'm driving. I'm organized mostly by playlists that I set up so i can shuffle things I like without having to be too distracted while I'm driving. So Artist/Album and Favorites (now that I know how to export my Playlists for Ice3) are exactly the way I like to find my music.
I have to agree with this - I've become accustomed to iTunes and like the navigation structure. A Front Row-type clone that can use a touchscreen would be almost perfect.Quote:
A lot of my suggestions may sound like iTunes, but that's because iTunes works well and seems to meet most peoples needs. I understand if that's not where you want this front end to go, but that's just my 2 cents.
Now that I've been using the current version for a while I've run across a couple behaviors that may be bugs or may be how you intend for it to work:
1) The rewind control (<<) instead of going to the beginning of the current song, like most CD players/iPods/iTunes, goes to the beginning of the previous song.
2) When I turn off the car and the computer goes to sleep, ICE3 starts the song over again when I start the car and the computer wakes up. Not tragic, but could you start from where I turned it off? - Edit - It also does not shuffle after sleep. It plays in consecutive order until you touch the forward (>>) control, then it shuffles.
3) It would be nice when navigating an album, movie or playlist that after I've selected an item (i.e. touched and highlighted it) that it would start playing if I hit the play/pause button instead of having to use the >> button on the right side of the screen. The pause/play seems more intuitive to start a movie, for instance, than touching the >> on the right side.
I'm really enjoying using the new version. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to OBD and all the other cool stuff you're working on.
Couple of bugs...
When playing the last movie in your list of movies, if you press the next button ice3 crashes requiring a force quit, perhaps start playing from the start of the movie list.
Movie player does not read sub directories, eg when the movie path is set to '\users\nick\movies' the 'Music Video' and 'Video' sub directories do not show
Since the last update, i've noticed that any ratings that i set for songs don't stay after i quit ICE3. I have the itunes library support turned on. This isn't a big deal for me, but i thought it might be something that could be easily fixed.
Thanks ahead of time!
Hi Guys, first of all, congrats on the only (that I could find) front end that's still alive and working for OSX.
anyways, I have a small problem -
my entire library is WAV format (I hate compression), and no matter what I try, I can't get the tracks to show up in the selector :(
I set the music folder to Users/Macmini/Music/iTunes/Itunes Music/
or anything for that matter, and there's no tracks in there.
If I set the 'use iTunes Library' I see the library folders, but they are all empty. I know I have 7 albums in the Albums folder, but it show empty.
any clues?
why don't you just transcode the wav to alac? i keep a master library in flac and transcode as needed, since itunes won't handle a flac library...
I don't want to start an argument, but even the 'lossless' codecs have loss, mostly introduced by the decoding process.
I'd hoped pcm WAV would be supported.
i'm not arguing, i'm interested. do you have any references that discuss the loss in the decoding process you're talking about?
