Doesn't necessarily mean he's using pirated software. I have a virtual drive and (legally) mount ISO's all the time for software that requires the disc to be in the drive. I hate changing cd's. I try to live without them.
You wont get help here about pirated software.

I know for a fact that both iguidance 3 and 4 come one DVDs that are used for install only. You pop it in, enter the serial click next next finsish and it is installed. You can then put thermite on the disk if you want, because you dont need it again until you reinstall. No need for mounting an image.

Well, unless you're smart enough to copy the maps to the correct location on the C drive (most of us are) iGuidance requires the cd to be in the drive in order to obtain the map data. Besides, iGuidance wont install without a valid key, so a crack would have been needed whether the drive was mounted or not. This would render mounting useless for pirating purposes. And in the car pc world, not everybody has a CD drive.. I dont, so mounting images is the next best thing.... next to the fact that iGuidance can install from the files directly. But maybe he's not that smart.
Hmm. I never had to do this. I just put the disk in, went through isntall and it automatically created the folder in c: root, and voila. For 3 I had to use the map loader, but it too automatically created the folder and copied everything over.
Maybe there are different versions, but that would be strange.

Hmm.. I actually had to reinstall it because unless I manually copied the maps to the root directory, it wanted a cd for the maps. My instructions even told me to copy the cd to the root then install and leave the files there. Maybe there are different versions. Interesting.
Oh I broke 100 posts.. just noticed.. Sorry, I had to say something.![]()
ok ok ok wait wait wait...
first of all, i dont have a cd drive so i mounted it. i bought a fully legit copy so im not pirating crap.
imma hook up my external cd drive tormow n try to reinstall it.
hahhaha i got it to work... copied the folder to the wrong folder...
and yes, i .ISO everything so its easier for me.
when I installed it, it would load for me using the cd or from mounting an image, but saving favorites etc would not work. the reason is that it wants to save the favorites in the same location as the map files.
it will look for favorites and map files in c:\iNav iGuidance\
I installed the program, then afterward, copied the "iNav iGuidance" folder from the CD to the root of my c: drive. after that i was able to load the program without any cd or ISO and it was also able to save my favorites![]()
