Thread: iGuidance 2009

As it has been already mentioned numerous times in all the many threads you have started on various web sites, on the topic of your issue of the several year old version of iG 4.0 and the brand new O/S Windows 7, the upcoming iG 4.2 will be fully 100% compatible w/Windows 7.



But I suspect you will keep on bashing the developer anyway. Your iG 4.0 has never been listed Windows 7 in it's system requirements.


Talk to some of the guys here at mp3car forum, and see if they can help you solve your issues. It seems many people around here have even the old iG 4.0 running on Win 7 just fine.

Come to think of it, there is a possibility of global warming killing us all someday soon. Perhaps you should start a thread bashing on the sun for being so bright, or all the power producers for polluting the air and providing us electricity. What about those SUV manufacturers?

Also, you should be locked up in the nut house if you think that iNav corp will release a brand spanking new product that isn't compatible with an OS that's been available to devs for over a year now.

No you didn't bring SUV manufacturers into the fold. I drive an SUV and I am very hurt by your statement, expect a call from my lawyer!

Are you serious though? He's bashing a product that isn't out yet? How come they didn't just call it iG 5? Why 4.2? Well before Win 7 came out, everyone was saying it would be cr@p and now I cant wait to get it in my car. I have to say though I am guilty of bashing new products too, I 100% hate the iPad, and bash it regularly and it hasn't come out yet.

Probably because it sounds cooler. More than likely there isnt anything "new" about it, just new maps. I agree with D11 on the terms that they should abandon their anti-piracy efforts. It is plain annoying for the end user. People that buy it legally become frustrated without the lack of a map loader especially for the mobile platforms. People that pirate it, will pirate it no matter what. Vista was "un-hackable" according to Microsoft. Well, it happened pretty fast. If Microsoft gets hacked, little itty bitty iNav will be hacked much more easily. Just let go and get rid of the damn anti-piracy!!! And activation!!!

... and I suspect they would love to, since it is just costing them money in licensing fees for the 3rd party software-protection product they use. But, as far as I know, it is the Navteq's requirement that products using its geographical data use some form of anti-piracy protection. There is no longer a version of any current Navteq based product that doesn't employ some kind of copyright protection today.

I see, I never used iG 4, so I dont know about the anti-piracy stuff. I still use the Destinator that came with CF3. We all found a way to update maps to current, and someone made a live traffic routing plugin for Destinator so now it does the things I want. She doesnt talk much, but I dont need her to talk to me like other nav engines. Just tell me when to turn and keep me out of traffic and im happy.

Yea, its a shame MS does that, lol, and people are so retarded to fall into that trap everytime. You should see all the reviews I have read on the iPad, they say the device is laughable because you cant do real computing on it, but its still so cool. How does Apple drill this stuff into people heads?
