Sorry but that doesn't make any sense. You must be confused about something. No matter what you do to volume if the system volume is low nothing loud can come through. Therefore the only possible answer is that it is changing the system volume somehow.

and yet that is exactly whats happening. The only time I can control the Iguidance volume is when I click on the actual sound file. PC volume down, winamp volume down, Iguidance volume down to one bar still = Super loud iguidance voice prompts.

Are you using SPDIF? This will ignore your Windows volume slider since it's digital and it's either on or off.

I'm using this card and wouldn't the SPDIf affect all volume not just Iguidance?

Winamp volume up, windows & Iguidance volume all the way down and still I get yelled at by Iguidance. I also notice that it is also amplifying the music as well when the prompts come on. I checked in RR Config and played with the "Lower volume to %" checked the box and unchecked it and still get the same results. I'm fresh out of ideas...I just leave iguidance on mute

ok, I had to install winxp again so everything is fresh. Testing the system on my desk and the GPS sounds fine. Installed in the car and I'm having the same issue. The only difference was on my desk I had the speakers connected to the headphone jack of the sound card instead of the RCA's. Gonna try and connect back to the headphone jack and see if it changes anything. Will post results shortly
